Avengers Endgame

Avengers 5 Rumored To Release In July 2022

A rumored release date for Avengers 5 pegs the film as landing on July 29th, 2022. Though we advise taking this with a huge grain of salt.

Much to the surprise of no one, Avengers: Endgame is crushing the global box office right now, with the film closing in quickly on Avatar as it just hit $2.5 billion. Money aside though, fans are absolutely loving it and it’s also received the critics’ stamp of approval, proving that Marvel Studios is Kryptonite to bad reviews. All in all, it’s the perfect sendoff to an era of superhero films that hit all the right notes.

Of course, Avengers: Endgame also provided finality for many of its heroes and you shouldn’t expect to see the original team (well, what’s left of them) that was first assembled in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers together again. In fact, even Robert Downey Jr. said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that “the [Avengers’] future’s very uncertain.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean Marvel won’t be pushing ahead with a new incarnation of the team, as we reported not too long ago that the studio’s developing a New Avengers film. The group will purportedly include Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye (or perhaps Clint’s daughter Lila), Hulkling, Iron Lad, Patriot, Wiccan, Stature and Vision (not Paul Bettany’s version), and they may be making their big screen debut on July 29th, 2022.

Though we advise taking this with a rather large grain of salt, industry insider John Campea has apparently revealed that date as for when Marvel will release Avengers 5. We should note that the date itself is confirmed. The studio will indeed be bringing us a movie on July 29th, 2022. It’s just that at the moment, we don’t know which film it’ll be.

If Campea’s correct, though, we’ll be getting a fifth Avengers movie and given that Iron Man and Black Widow are dead, and Cap’s an old man, it’s likely that it’ll feature that new team we mentioned above. Then again, 2022 isn’t too far off now and with no firm plans to introduce characters like Iron Lad, Wiccan, Hulkling, etc., it’s unlikely Marvel would give them their own film in just a few years’ time.

As such, perhaps the fifth Avengers will focus mostly on some of the current heroes like Doctor Strange, Spider-Man and Black Panther, while planting seeds for the new blood and maybe introducing a couple of them in small cameo roles, before they go on to get their own movie.

Whatever the case may be, this all remains unconfirmed for now, but when you take into account that plans for the New Avengers are already confirmed, and couple it with all those seeds that were planted in Endgame, it’s clear that Joe and Anthony Russo’s recent epic wasn’t the last Avengers film we’ll ever see.
