The Internet is currently ripe with rumors about The Eternals. While some big ones have already been confirmed, the vast majority are just fun speculation. Some of the most interesting gossip surrounding the film though is the potential addition of Millie Bobby Brown to the star-studded cast.
The Stranger Things alum could debut as Piper, a powerful and mischievous psychic who’s permanently trapped in the body of a child. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but Disney would be smart to get one of the most recognizable rising stars in Hollywood into the MCU. Now that the universe is set to enter its next phase, new faces will be needed to replace the old ones.
At only 15-years-old, Brown has already taken the entertainment industry by storm. The Emmy-award winning actress is currently anchoring one of the most popular shows on television, as well as starring in the two upcoming Godzilla movies. She’s definitely in very high demand. Then again, so is Angelina Jolie, who’s already confirmed to star in The Eternals.
The success of Avengers: Endgame has been virtually unparalleled, but the studio knows that now’s not the time to rest on their laurels. They want the MCU to continue well into the future, which is why the much-anticipated Eternals film will be crucial to what happens next.
It would be fantastic if Brown does end up in the movie, but it’s also unwise to put too much stock into internet rumors. The truth is that no one really knows what the cast list will look like when all is said and done. There’ve been rumblings of a potential Game of Thrones star joining the ranks, as well as the groundbreaking possibility of a gay Asian actor fronting the project, but again, a lot of this remains unconfirmed.
As of right now, it’s difficult to separate fact from fiction when it comes to this movie. Hopefully though, the casting directors will see how excited the Internet’s getting about the potential of Millie Bobby Brown as Piper and give her a well-deserved role in The Eternals.
