Norman Osborn Rumored To Be The Major Villain Of MCU Phase 4

Peter Parker's old nemesis Norman Osborn is seemingly in line to succed Thanos as the MCU's next major villain.

For the most part, and despite Tom Holland’s best efforts to foil the Marvel master plan, MCU Phase 4 is a total mystery.

We know Spider-Man: Far From Home to be a post-Endgame epilogue to Phase 3, in which Peter Parker (and Mysterio!) will come face-to-face with the ramifications of Thanos’ snap, but beyond that, Kevin Feige and the Powers That Be at Marvel Studios refuse to be drawn about what comes next. And long may that continue, otherwise everything will be spoiled before the likes of Captain Marvel and Black Panther have a chance to establish themselves as the new faces of Marvel’s juggernaut franchise.

This being the MCU, though, there will always be leaks circulating online. And the latest comes to us by way of a tipster named Roger Wardell (h/t The Independent). Among other things, he (or she!) is alleging that Norman Osborn has been earmarked as the next major MCU villain after Thanos.

If true, it would certainly ensure that Phase 4 of the MCU remains grounded in a post-Endgame world. We’ve long heard that Marvel Studios has no intentions of pumping out another Avengers movie anytime soon, so Osborn’s reign may be much more understated compared to Thanos. Not every villain wants to wipe out 50 percent of the universe, you know.

Adding weight to this tidbit is the fact that Spider-Man: Far From Home is just around the corner, and what better way to introduce Norman Osborn than to have him standing opposite his old nemesis, Peter Parker?

Either way, Roger Wardell’s leak concludes with a speculative look into the crystal ball, claiming that MCU Phase 4 will feature movies dedicated to Black Widow, The Eternals, Black Panther, Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange, Nova and the Guardians of the Galaxy, along with new installments in the Thor and Ant-Man franchises. Better yet? We may even get a Dark Avengers spinoff, which will no doubt send fans into a tailspin…
