New Spider-Man: Far From Home Promo May Tease Spider-UK

The second trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, released in the wake of Avengers: Endgame, revealed that Mysterio was from another world, with Thanos' snap supposedly causing the walls between dimensions to weaken. A subsequent clip explained that Jake Gyllenhaal's Quentin Beck was from Earth-833, a universe with some comic book significance. And this new promo for the upcoming sequel further teases how Mysterio's Earth connects to the source material.

The short teaser highlights the threat of the Elementals that are rampaging through Europe. “These things destroyed my world,” says Beck in the promo. “We have to stop them.”

So, Mysterio’s Earth is dead, which could be telling as Earth-833 was likewise destroyed in the comics. Though not by the Elementals, which are original creations for the MCU inspired by the likes of Hydro-Man and Molten-Man. Intriguingly, there was also one survivor from that world on the page, too: William Braddock AKA Spider-UK.

Ever since Mysterio revealed that he was from Earth-833, fans have been wondering if Spider-UK could show up in the film. The fact that the MCU version of the alternate reality is running pretty close to the one from the comics, from what little we know, implies that the character – memorably nicknamed “Benedict Cumberbug” by Peter during the Spider-Verse event – could feature, after all.

A theory was previously posed that suggests Tom Holland might get to play Spider-UK as well. This would be a lot of fun, as not only would it give him the opportunity to portray a different version of the hero, but also the chance to use his own English accent in a Marvel movie.

All this is just speculation for now, but fingers crossed Spider-Man: Far From Home will have some multiversal treats for us when it swings into theaters on July 2nd.
