It’s not in the dictionaries yet, but it’s most definitely coming. Make no mistake about it.
I’m talking, of course, about the Keanussance: The revival of Keanu Reeves that kicked off with John Wick in 2014 and later spread throughout the globe with two hit sequels and another Bill & Ted movie on the way as well. Suffice it to say, the love for The Matrix star is real these days and it only seems to be getting bigger.
Case in point: Over on Change.org, a new petition has sprung up calling for Reeves to be named Time’s 2019 Person of the Year. It’s currently got a goal of 7,500 signatures and at the time of writing, it’s already hit 7,200. Clearly, a lot of people are into the idea, and why wouldn’t they be?
As mentioned above, Reeves is seeing a “most excellent” upswing in his career as of late and the internet just can’t seem to get enough of him. Indeed, it seems he can do no wrong right about now and with tons of exciting projects on the way, it sure doesn’t look like the Keanussance is going to die down any time soon.
Simply put, the actor is just the epitome of cool, awesome and everything in between, and with Keanu Reeves arguably at the top of his game right now, we can’t wait to see what he does next. Speaking of which, it won’t be long before he’s back in theaters, as he’s got a voice role in this week’s Toy Story 4.
After that, there’s the aforementioned Bill & Ted to look forward to, another John Wick, and maybe, just maybe, an appearance in the MCU. In short, there’s a lot on the way and you can expect the Keanussance to only continue to grow from here.
