You Can Now Spend Halloween In The Mansion From The Original Scream

Over 20 years ago, Wes Craven changed the horror scene forever with Scream, a slasher that managed to subvert genre stereotypes and satirize cliches while also enthralling audiences. Needless to say, it proved to be a big hit with moviegoers, and the original film's success spawned three sequels (some good, some bad), a television show and arguably, the entire Scary Movie franchise. Unfortunately, the series hasn't been the same ever since Craven died back in 2015 and for now, it doesn't look like any future projects are on the horizon.

That being said, if you’re looking to relive days of Halloween past, then Screamoween has you covered. Paying homage to the epic festivities featured in the original movie, this party will be hosted in the mansion used for filming, which is located smack dab in the middle of Tomales, California.

As the official website explains, the crew spent three weeks working on the final act here. The home, which is now owned by a private citizen, is situated in a gated complex and for one night, the doors will be open for several dozen lucky attendees.

Here are some of the key details:

  • Tickets are extremely limited! Only 150 are available.

  • Attend a one-of-a-kind Halloween Bash hosted at the famous house used in Wes Craven’s 1996 classic horror movie, SCREAM.

  • Party all night! (6:00pm – 4:00am)

  • Costumes are mandatory! Any costume, not just from SCREAM!

  • Food & Drink (both alcohol and non-alcohol) will be available for purchase all night at the house.

  • Movies on VHS in the living room!

  • Jiffy Pop on the stove!

  • Giveaways and other goodies!

  • Take endless selfies all around the house!

  • Make friends and be a part of an unforgettable Halloween night!

It sounds like it’s shaping up to be a great time, but with tickets coming in at a steep $200 (which doesn’t even cover food and drink), we’re interested to see who will pony up for this pricy Screamthemed party. Of course, if you’re looking to save a few dollars, you can always grab yourself a copy of Dead by Daylight and play as Ghostface from the comfort and safety of your living room couch, instead.
