Avengers fans, assemble!

Well, at least that’s what Robert Downey Jr. said to do, in not so specific terms. Taking to his Twitter account earlier today, the Iron Man actor asked fans to do their part and check out the Avengers: Endgame re-release in theaters.

“suit up, show up, records gonna blow up!!! #EndGameRerelease today…”

Along with the simple call to action, the star posted an original picture of an Avengers-themed rocket launching into the air. You can check it out below.

The Russo Brothers’ three-hour galactic epic took the world by storm back in April. But ironically for a film that features Thor, it didn’t generate enough thunder. Now, Endgame‘s being re-released with a few minutes of bonus footage in the hopes that it can earn the $37.5 million necessary to become the all-time box office record holder – which is currently held by James Cameron’s Avatar.

It may be a long shot, but the re-release gives fans another opportunity to see Endgame during an otherwise quiet week in theaters. It’s also a chance for people to re-familiarize themselves with what’s going on (not that anyone forgot) in the MCU before Spider-Man: Far From Home hits next week.

With all this said, it’s not like Marvel’s going to be shaking in its boots if Endgame doesn’t reach the top. They’ve made a boatload of cash off of the project already – over $2.7 billion to be exact – but even so, it’d be quite an accomplishment after ten years of innovative storytelling.

We want to know, though, are you going to answer Robert Downey Jr.’s call? And what’s your plan with the Avengers: Endgame re-release? Does it sound appetizing? Or is it not worth your time? Let us know in the comments section below.
