Arrowverse Producer Teases Big Crisis On Infinite Earths Announcement

When The CW announced that “Crisis on Infinite Earths” will be the title of the next major Arrowverse crossover, they definitely got the attention of comic book lovers everywhere. I mean, not only is it one of DC’s biggest and most important storylines ever, but it’s something nobody believed would ever be adapted.

Now that we know it’s actually happening, more questions are seemingly raised by the day. Last month, it was revealed at the fall upfronts that “Crisis” will be a five-part event spread across two quarters of broadcasting. By that, I’d assume we’ll get a winter cliffhanger, as opposed to wrapping up the story in a matter of nights like we’re used to seeing.

Given the magnitude of this, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to any that “Crisis” be discussed during the DC TV panels to be conducted at San Diego Comic-Con in a matter of weeks. Reassuring us of this is producer Marc Guggenheim, who said the following after sharing some highly impressive fan art on Twitter:

“Loving these so much. Everyone is hard at work already — the earliest start we’ve ever gotten on the crossovers — to make this as big and epic and FUN as we can conceivably manage. Don’t be surprised if we announce something pretty cool at SDCC…”

In case you were wondering, the fan art found above comes to us by way of “We Are Lotzers,” a page dedicated to Legends of Tomorrow star Caity Lotz. If you were to ask me, this piece looks good enough to serve as an official poster, so I can’t wait to see what the actual one will look like.

Like Guggenheim said, he and his colleagues got started breaking the story for this crossover much earlier than usual. Aside from the scope, it’s for the best they did, because the latter parts of Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl‘s latest seasons would’ve spoiled what was coming, had not the initial reveal been made upon “Elseworlds'” conclusion last fall.
