First Banner For The Walking Dead Season 10 Teases The Show’s Return

The first banner for season 10 of AMC's The Walking Dead has been released online today, teasing the show's return this fall.

The Walking Dead franchise keeps on growing in new and exciting ways, with the spinoff Fear soon to be joined by a female-centric series and Andrew Lincoln’s movie trilogy. Judging by all this, you may think that the show that started it all is still just as big as it’s always been. You’d be wrong, though, as the ratings have been on the decline for a while now. In fact, the recent ninth run fell to all-time record lows several times throughout the season.

AMC, however, are unfazed about the dip in viewing figures and remain intent on bringing us more of The Walking Dead. As you surely know, the tenth season of the zombie drama is now in production and ahead of Comic-Con later this month, where we’ll likely see the first trailer, we now have a gorgeous new banner to feast our eyes on – which you can check out in the gallery down below.

Granted, it doesn’t reveal anything about the new season, but it’s a fitting image as it reminds us that Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier are the last two characters remaining who’ve been with the show since the start, as the past few years have seen tons of longtime cast members fly the nest – even Andrew Lincoln departed in season 9.

What’s also interesting about this banner is that it might add fuel to the theory that in the next run, “Caryl” could become a thing. Fans have been shipping the characters for years and the season 9 finale even suggested it might happen given that we found out Carol has separated from her husband Ezekiel. Then again, Melissa McBride has already teased that Carol and Ezekiel’s marriage isn’t over yet, so who knows?

In any case, we should learn more in just a few weeks, as The Walking Dead panel will take place at 1pm PST on July 19th at San Diego Comic-Con.
