Here’s How Tom Holland Reacted To That Incredible Spider-Man: Far From Home Cameo

The mid-credits scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home's gained a lot of attention, and now Tom Holland's thrown in his two cents on its awesome cameo.

If it weren’t obvious, this post will contain MAJOR SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Far From Home. So move forward with the knowledge that you’ve been warned.

Believe it or not, Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s kind of a big deal. Having already made over $600 million in the nine days since its monster release, you can list all the things that’d attract audiences into the web. Not only does Tom Holland deliver a dedicated physical and emotional performance as Peter Parker, but fans have been adoring his chemistry with MJ actress Zendaya, and there’s of course the added pleasure of witnessing Jake Gyllenhaal in more big screen glory as Mysterio.

But one scene that’s rightfully earned a lot of buzz comes into the film during the credits. Though it looks like a great majority of people already do, I really hope you stayed for this one.

In case you didn’t, here’s a recap: Peter Parker, having defeated Quentin Beck, is back in the streets of New York when a breaking news report mentions his recent foe and the video he recorded right before “his heroic death.” In the video, Beck shifts the narrative, twisting Spidey into the bad guy, and going so far as to reveal Peter’s real identity.

And as exciting as all that is, there’s another part that might take the cake. Reporting on the controversy’s exactly who we want it to be: yep, J. Jonah Jameson, played once again by the great, now Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons.

The iconic actor surprisingly reprised the role he played in the three Sam Raimi-Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies. Undoubtedly one of the highlights of that trilogy, it’d be hard to imagine anyone else playing the part. And thankfully, we won’t have to anymore.

From the looks of it though, we’re not the only ones rejoicing. In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, star Tom Holland was asked to share his response to the scene, as well as the potential opportunity to act alongside Simmons in the future. While he was uncharacteristically quiet about what’s confirmed to come, here’s what he had to say about the whole Simmons sensation:

“It will be an absolute dream come true. That’s all I have to say.”

Unlike Holland, Simmons followed the rules of the Marvel Universe and has stayed virtually silent through this process. Unfortunately, we don’t know if the Whiplash star’s coming back, but now that the character’s been introduced in Spider-Man: Far From Home, we can only hope.
