Star Wars’ Mark Hamill Shares A Hilarious Story About Carrie Fisher

Believe it or not, Mark Hamill hit up his Twitter with another Star Wars story; this one's about his famed, late co-star, the great Carrie Fisher.

If every fandom community had a Mark Hamill, perhaps the world’s great questions would finally be answered.

It’s almost every day that the Star Wars icon gives his Twitter followers, and subsequently the planet, another behind-the-scenes story from the beloved franchise. On Wednesday, he explained a photo from The Empire Strikes Back of its director Irvin Kershner, and Yoda creator Stuart Freeborn. And he struck again (very early) this morning, this time detailing a touching, funny tale from his time working with the late Carrie Fisher on Return of the Jedi.

In the chronology of the series, Luke and Leia weren’t both aware yet that they were siblings. But Hamill and Fisher seemed to always share a loving and collaborative friendship, one that’s extended well beyond the actress’ untimely death. Most recently, Hamill’s been on the frontlines in the campaign to have Fisher immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – even if that takes replacing President Donald Trump. Hey, whatever gets the job done, right?

But when it comes to Hamill’s most recent display of affection, a lot of Star Wars fans shared their thoughts:

“I’m 99% sure that floral robe is in the archives up at the Ranch. Only the most priceless cinematic relics!,” @ThatChrisA shared.

“The real question is did you ever wear the bikini?,” tweeted @DeTyJe, asking the question we desperately want to know the answer to.

“These stories about Carrie give me joy,” @makhoszi added

Your everyday fan wasn’t the only one touched by the story. Even comedian Kathy Griffin chimed in:

“That is what I love most about you. You loved her so much,” she replied.

Well, ain’t that the truth?

Though we lost Fisher in 2016, fans will get the chance to see her again on the big screen one last time in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Thankfully, J.J. Abrams had some unused footage from The Force Awakens to incorporate into the film, and we’ll have to wait and see what magic he’ll pull to send off one of Hollywood’s greatest stories.
