While Pennywise and the Losers’ Club are currently behind the Deadpool franchise for the highest opening weekend for an R-rated movie, this should change come September. There are multiple reasons for this, too, from a terrifying trailer to an all-star cast and the promise of an even scarier turn from the aforementioned clown.

We’re expecting to see more details for It: Chapter Two emerge during this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con as well, building on a recent new photo released by Entertainment Weekly. Hopefully this will include a fresh trailer that’ll show off the film’s much-discussed commitment to horror.

If you’re not familiar with the plot of It: Chapter Two from the book, it focuses on the adult lives of the Losers’ Club as they return to fight the evil entity Pennywise. While King’s novel alternates childhood and adult storylines, the movie version has chosen to split these into distinct parts. Furthermore, the sequel will up the star wattage for its cast, featuring the likes of James McAvoy, Bill Hader and Jessica Chastain. Given the length of King’s tome, a similarly epic runtime isn’t out of the question for the follow-up, either.

In our opinion, it’ll take a lot for It: Chapter Two to miss breaking box office records in September, given the buzz surrounding the movie. And to keep up with all the latest news, make sure to follow our coverage from San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, where we’ll be sharing all the stories fit to post on the biggest new releases being touted at the convention.
