The five images below promise that we’ll get to know a bunch of new characters, as well as a few old favorites. Of the fresh additions to the cast, Isa Briones as Dahj, Evan Evagora as Elnor, Santiago Cabrera as Rios, Michelle Hurd as Raffi and Allison Pill as Dr. Jurati are featured. As for the old favorites returning, Jeri Ryan’s Seven of Nine gets her own pic.

It would be a treat if just Seven was in it, after not being seen sine Voyager wrapped in 2001, but there’s plenty more familiar faces to come in Picard. The trailer also revealed that Brent Spiner would be back as Data – somewhat surprisingly though, as it reminded us that the android died back in 2002’s Star Trek: Nemesis. That’s still not it, though, as both Jonathan Frakes and Martina Sirtis will reprise their roles as William Riker and Deanna Troi, too.

As for the big threat of Picard, it looks like the Borg will play a major role in the series. Which is not surprising considering Jean-Luc’s past with the race, as well as why Seven’s back. Jonathan Del Arco will also return as Hugh who, like Seven, was once a Borg drone before regaining his individuality. It seems Picard returns to space then in order to protect the mysterious Dahj, who’s seen as a dangerous weapon.

Expect to learn more over the coming months before Star Trek: Picard blasts onto CBS All Access later this year.
