Pentagon accused of ‘trying to be cute’ after Donald Trump’s order to release UFO videos falls on deaf ears

The truth remains concealed.

The Pentagon has missed a deadline to release 46 specific Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) videos, and lawmakers are now accusing it of a deliberate cover-up. Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who chairs the House Federal Secrets Task Force, had formally ordered the Secretary of Defense on April 1, 2026, to deliver the footage by April 14, 2026. The deadline passed without any response from the Pentagon.

According to The Daily Mail, the requested videos are not random clips. They reportedly include footage of spherical, cigar-shaped, and Tic Tac-like objects spotted near sensitive military sites, airports, and active war zones. Some recordings allegedly captured UAP formations near Iran and Syria, as well as the 2023 shootdown event over Lake Huron.

Representative Luna posted on X, expressing her frustration. She said no one from the Pentagon had responded to the order until her team followed up, and suggested the letter may not have even reached the right people. She stated, “How convenient,” and warned that “whoever is trying to be cute at the Pentagon can take a hike,” adding that the President had already authorized the release of these records.

The Pentagon is defying a direct presidential order, and that is a serious problem

Back in February 2026, President Trump directed federal agencies, including the Pentagon, to begin identifying and releasing files related to UFOs and potential extraterrestrial activity. He wrote on social media, “Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War… to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”

Despite this clear directive, the videos remain unreleased. Trump has been facing pressure on multiple fronts lately, and his ongoing efforts to negotiate a peace deal with Iran are adding to an already complicated political picture.

The Task Force’s interest in these specific clips is backed by whistleblower testimony. Whistleblowers reportedly informed the Task Force that the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office holds additional video records that have never been made public.

One specific item requested is a video titled “Spherical UAP over AFG in and out of clouds” from 2020, which was previously leaked by journalists Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp. It allegedly shows a large disc moving through cloud cover during a reconnaissance mission near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

For context, a Pentagon report released in recent years stated that U.S. government investigations going back to the end of World War Two have found no evidence of extraterrestrial technology.

The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office has also said that most sightings could likely be explained as ordinary objects if better data were available, and has pushed back against claims involving reverse-engineered alien spacecraft. Trump himself has not been without distractions, as an unexpected visitor recently showed up at Mar-a-Lago in a story that caught many off guard.

Despite the official position, public pressure for full disclosure is growing. One person online commented, “The American people want all this declassified. There’s zero reason for any of it to be kept secret.”

Representative Luna continues to push for the declassification of these records and the protection of whistleblowers. With the deadline now passed and the footage still withheld, attention is on whether the Pentagon will comply with the order or continue to hold back information that lawmakers say is critical for understanding these phenomena.
