Fifteen years. That’s how long Sam and Dean Winchester will have been a part of their fans’ lives by the time the final season of Supernatural ends. We’ll let that sink in for a moment…
At their final Hall H appearance at the SDCC, all it took was one question to bring the duo to tears. Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict, who play Gabriel/Loki and God on the show, were the moderators and they asked the stars what they thought about the series ending. I mean, come on guys, what did you expect to happen? Jared Padalecki’s response: “Can we all just start crying so I don’t feel so weird?”

It’s doubtful that the tears are going to stop until well after the series ends next year. Season 14 left Sam, Dean and Castiel surrounded by the undead. Every monster they had ever killed was back. Gacy’s Killer Clown and the Lady in White, just to name a couple, picked up right where they left off and it looks like we’re going to be treated to at least a couple episodes full of the Winchester’s past kills, so get ready for a trip down memory lane.
The official season 15 synopsis gives us a hint as to what we’re in for, too, as it reads as so:
“The epic journey of the Winchester brothers come to a close as Supernatural enters its final season. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have battled demons and angels, mythical creatures and monsters, in a seemingly unending quest to save the world. But in the final battle of the show’s 14th season, they face off against God Himself (Rob Benedict), refusing to kill their surrogate nephilim son Jack (Alexander Calvert), and thus bringing about God’s decision to end this reality once and for all.”
Supernatural has never failed to shock its fandom each time a season ended and last year’s was no different when God Himself was revealed as the final big bad. Talk about the biggest bad of all time. He came off as more of a spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum when he didn’t get his way, but don’t tell Him I said that.
Supernatural‘s fifteenth and final season premieres Thursday, October 10th on The CW.
