Epic Games Announces Fortnite Season 10 Server Downtime

If there's one thing that's for sure, it's that Epic Games has gotten quite good at ramping up their loyal patrons. Over the past few days, the Fortnite developer has been slowly drip-feeding cryptic images and teasers to their unwavering fanbase to tease the upcoming tenth season of the wildly-popular battle royale. Earlier today, Epic finally released the first full-length trailer for Season 10, which they're referring to as Season X (for whatever reason).

As we previously reported, the upcoming event seems to focus on time travel. While Season 9 flung players into the future, it looks like Epic is turning back the clock this time around, teasing the return of vaulted weapons and cosmetic items, as well as some previously destroyed or altered locales – I, for one, can’t wait to return to good ol’ Dusty Depot.

Needless to say, it looks like fans might be able to experience the best of what Fortnite has to offer, and we’re certain that new and veteran players alike will relish the opportunity to revisit old locations once more. Of course, with a new season though comes a new update, and as expected, it looks like Epic will be shutting down the servers for a bit in order to roll out the new content.

As reported by Fortnite Insider, the game’s servers will be shut down tomorrow starting at around 4 a.m. Eastern Time. The downtime is expected to last for a few hours, which means most players won’t be affected too badly.

Also, it seems Season 10/X will require an update that comes in at around 3 GB, so don’t forget to clear out some disk space if you’re running low. We’re not entirely sure what else Epic has in store for Fortnite fans, but with the new season launching tomorrow, we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
