Kerry Washington Is The Female Lead In Django Unchained

After months of speculation that Kerry Washington may be Quentin Tarantino’s choice for the female lead in Django Unchained, Deadline has reported that the actress has indeed been cast as Broomhilda. This will reunite Washington with her Ray co-star Jamie Foxx, who is of course playing the title character of Django.

Washington is a solid actress who we really don’t see enough of. Hopefully Django Unchained will put her back into the spotlight and remind everyone that she’s still a force to be reckoned with.

Django Unchained stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, Don Johnson, Dennis Christopher, Laura Cayouette, Gerald McRaney and Tom Savini and will be in cinemas on December 25th, 2012.
