Every once in a while there's a cast with so much star-power that it's hard to believe the film is going to be anything other than great. However, it's a rare occasion when that caliber of cast is getting together for something dubbed an "action-comedy", as is the case with the Johnny Depp-starring Mortdecai. Today, the film added three more quality names to its cast in Jeff Goldblum, Aubrey Plaza and Oliver Platt.
A little over a year ago it was announced that Casey Affleck would star in Boston Strangler for Warner Bros., but since then there hasn't been a lot of progress made on the project. Now, however, it looks like things are finally starting to move on this one as today we're hearing that Mark Romanek is in talks with the studio to direct the film.
Only fueling the worries that some fans have about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 being too overloaded with villains, the trailer and banner that Sony released in December were both jam-packed with as many foes as possible. While it's by no means confirmed, another rumor has leaked out that tells us Johnson could be taking on John Stewart aka the Green Lantern.
Plenty of groups give out awards for excellence in film and television at the end of every year, but no set of nominations is watched more carefully by Oscar predictors than the picks from the Producers Guild. That's because year after year their choices end up being a fairly good indicator of which films will also be granted Best Picture nominations when the Academy makes their selections.
Occasionally Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson takes some time to answer questions from fans on Twitter. He did another one of those sessions recently and Tweeted what appears to be confirmation of a role in an upcoming DC movie for Warner Bros. He also indicated that production will begin this year, though details are sparse past that.
Part of building anticipation for films is through the extensive promotion that studios do. The most tangible part of promotion are the movie posters that are released.
