While there hasn't been an official announcement confirming that the first live-action bit of Disney's Star Wars universe would be Episode VII, there really wasn't any reason to think otherwise. Today, that has changed a bit as Disney handed out a brochure at the European Brand Licensing Show detailing their plans for the next couple years. Included in those plans are Darth Vader TV specials sometime in spring or summer 2014.
The Gang never has been much for maintaining their health. Except for an episode where everyone fought to get health insurance, it's mostly been crummy food, lots of beer, and the occasional crack rock. With all that going on, it's surprising there haven't been many major health scares on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for us, that all changes in The Gang Gets Quarantined.
One of more exciting films currently in production is definitely David Fincher's Gone Girl. With a stellar cast including Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, and Neil Patrick Harris, and the film being based on the excellent Gillian Flynn novel, it looks like this could be one of the most promising projects coming our way in the near future.
Catherine Hardwicke's Plush only had a very limited theatrical release in September, but the movie is now available for everyone to watch on DVD and video on demand. It's a tale of obsession, creativity, and what the combination of the two can do when someone has a dark, twisted past. It's a creepy thriller that is definitely worth picking up if you have the chance.
Many brilliant artists have also been the mentally unstable ones. Whether it be writers, painters, or musicians, it seems that sometimes the most incredibly creative people are also the ones with the deepest problems. Catherine Hardwicke Plush shows that sometimes the eccentricities of an artist move beyond harmless quirks and into full-blown, dangerous obsession.
Looking at the number of episodes left in How I Met Your Mother's 9th season, it's beginning to seem like a overly-daunting, never-ending list. In case there's any question, that is not a good thing. We're supposed to want TV shows to carry on forever, always craving just one more episode featuring the characters we love.
Recently there's been word of a Monopoly movie, a Choose Your Own Adventure movie, and a movie for basically every well-established toy or game ever invented. One of those similar projects was a film about a gel-filled Hasbro action figure called Stretch Armstrong. Unfortunately for all the Stretch fans out there, Relativity Media have announced that they are abandoning the project.
Michael B. Jordan is well on his way to becoming one of the hottest actors in Hollywood, and from the sounds of things, he could have quite a bit on his slate in the near future. Not too long ago, he was rumored to have auditioned for Star Wars: Episode VII. He is also said to be the top choice to play the Human Torch in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.
Now I know you just read that title, rolled your eyes, and thought, "Yeah, we've heard that one before." While I have no way of guaranteeing anything in terms of this rumor, I will say that this one sounds pretty good. Ali Arikan, chief film critic of Dipnot TV with a track record of accuracy on Star Wars scoops, Tweeted that an official title, teaser trailer, and big casting news for Star Wars: Episode VII will be here within days.
The Gang Saves The Day is an interesting title for an episode, because no one in the Gang fits even a remote definition of heroic. They're the most depraved group of people on television, and a very far cry from the sort of folks you'd want coming to your aid in a time of distress. But who knows, maybe for the 100th episode something could change. The Gang could actually do something worthy of admiration. Or, as usual, everything could end up exactly the way things were in the first place. After all, this is It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
