MGM's Robocop reboot is picking up steam, as casting is getting underway and Chris Pine is reportedly on the top of the list to play the cyborg cop. Director Jose Padilha, best known for Elite Squad, is directing the new take on the classic '80s sci-fi pic that was directed by Paul Verhoeven.

According to Twitch, Pine is at the top of MGM's casting list, though no official offer has been made.
Twitch reports that Warner Bros. brass is lining up Guy Ritchie to direct the film adaptation of DC's violent WWII comic Sgt. Rock. Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver are positioning Sgt. Rock as Ritchie's next project after Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows wraps up. Though nothing has been officially announced, Ritchie is overseeing the current draft of the script.
