The Call of Duty series does not suck. There is no point in arguing whether this statement is true or not. Sure, every game in the franchise involves shooting somebody - usually a terrorist, a Natzi, or an undead version of the two- but it's a first-person shooter after all, so this comes with the territory. It's like saying the Madden games feature too much gameplay involving football.
After last weekend's thunderous debut of Skyfall, audiences know it's time to once again get conditioned to the eventual onslaught that is the winter movie season. It seems as if one big movie is released after another and late December's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is arguably the most anticipated.
Safe House has a cast full of actors who would make any director blush with confidence, but each and every one of them is used as scenery for the action scenes.
It really doesn't get more exciting or as visually appealing than the first photo show below. It's basically what everyone is expecting from the film-a formidable opponent for the Bat which will result in a clash of epic proportions. Hopefully Nolan will pull the camera back a bit so we can see who ends up winning. In HD this photo truly manages to capture multiple points of interest when examined up close. The fatigued (and somewhat terrified) expression that Batman exhibits, the menacing dominance displayed by Bane and what appears to be a guard standing idle above the two combatants. Also, where is this location? The Batcave maybe? For those who've seen it, the end of The Dark Knight Rises prologue visibly features Bane carrying Batman's mask while water showers from above. So what do you get when you combine a cascading waterfall and an expected fight between two fierce enemies? The possible end of the Dark Knight.
Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol may be nothing ground-breaking but it is the best example of how to make a skillfully made action film that works because of all the right elements that are blended together to create pure adrenaline bliss.
The Sitter is a mess because of a lot of things, but most of the blame should be focused on a lazy script that could have been written in a single afternoon.
After seeing an exclusive preview of the upcoming fourth film in the series, it was immediately marked as my must-see movie to watch this holiday season. In a crowded lineup of potential blockbusters, standing out isn’t an easy thing to do. But Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol sets itself apart from other contenders by raising the bar for what’s been seen in any action picture to date. If the trailers didn’t get you hooked, than here are three major reasons that demand the need for pre-ordering tickets instantly.
Last week included one of The Walking Dead’s best endings with a twist that will define Shane forever; it was arguably the most heart-pounding episode the series has aired to date. Following such a dramatic shock -like the death of Otis and the secret behind it- wasn’t going to be an easy experience to top. “Cherokee Rose” suffers when it comes to keeping up the momentum from its previous episode and loses direction overall, although a major hookup bred from the books comes to its aid along with a few subtle scenes of delicate conversations between certain characters.
