The CW billed their "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover as their biggest yet, pulling in actors and characters from across DC's live-action adaptations. This encompassed everything from Batman '66, Batman '89 and Smallville to more recent shows like Titans and Lucifer. But Part 4 of the event saw the most surprising crossover yet, as it was one with the DCEU in the form of Ezra Miller's first appearance as the Flash since Justice League in 2017.
It seems that future rewatches of Captain America: The First Avenger will contain a fairly disquieting moment. In the scene where Dominic Cooper's Howard Stark appears on stage with some glamorous 'Stark Girls,' one of them gives him a hug and a kiss (check it out here). The person playing her is Mollie Fitzgerald, who also served as production assistant to director Joe Johnston on the movie. Now, however, it seems that she may soon add 'convicted murderer' to 'MCU bit player' on her resume.
Despite previous episodes featuring cameos from across the long history of DC live-action adaptations, nobody expected what happened last night. Episode four of the five-part Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover saw the show's 'Seven Paragons' teaming up to connect the multiverse through the Speed Force. Grant Gustin's Barry Allen proceeded to zip through many universes, eventually arriving in the one place fans assumed he couldn't go: the DCEU.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has almost certainly now joined the billion-dollar club. The finale of Disney's Sequel Trilogy increased its global haul to $996.5 million on Monday, meaning today is the day when it'll crack that magic golden ceiling. Grossing a billion dollars used to be an extremely notable and rare occurrence, with Titanic being the first-ever movie to do so. Nowadays, though, it's not such a rare thing.
The first trailer for Morbius confirms that Sony's Spider-Verse is indeed crossing over with Disney's MCU. Ever since Venom was announced, fans have been wondering just how much crossover these two cinematic universes would have and that question initially looked to be settled right out of the gate, with Venom appearing to be set in its own universe where the existence of aliens was a surprise.
Mood within Disney and Lucasfilm is likely split into two camps on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. On one side you have the creative team, who have repeatedly expressed disappointment about how the film ended up. There have been rumblings from within the production that JJ Abrams' hands were tied when it came to introducing certain plot elements, cutting scenes and the film's length. Similarly, the cast have made various signals that they're not happy with how their characters ended up and have ruled out a future return. But the other camp, the beancounters, is doubtless the most influential.
The Witcher looks set to be a fixture on Netflix for years to come. The series quickly became one of the most popular on the platform, a second season is already in production and showrunner Lauren Hissrich has said that they have plans for a seven-season story.
With the first trailer now out in the wild, all eyes are on Morbius. Up until now, information has been thin on the ground about what Jared Leto would be up to as the Living Vampire and one thing we've heard quite often is that in the wake of Disney and Sony Pictures making up after their tiff last year, that the movie would showcase the growing link between Sony's Spider-Verse and Disney's MCU. This connection will apparently see J.K. Simmons' J. Jonah Jameson appearing in Morbius and there have even been rumors that Spider-Man will cameo in the movie.
Production of Matt Reeves' The Batman is fully underway now. Scenes are being shot on set at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and on location in London, giving us a couple of exciting sneak peeks at the film. And while we've seen some interesting set decoration and what appears to be Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, we haven't laid eyes on the Batsuit or the Batmobile yet.
