Captain Marvel Officially Passes The $1 Billion Mark
About a month ago, you couldn't move for people authoritatively claiming that Captain Marvel was going to be a record flop for Marvel Studios. Their reasoning was that Brie Larson's milquetoast comments on feminism would surely torpedo the film's box office chances. They said that Disney was so terrified by the failure (?) of Star Wars: The Last Jedi that they were terrified of losing the white male market.  They claimed there was insider information that Disney and Marvel Studios had already concluded that the film would be a disaster and might be already scrubbing Captain Marvel from Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame Directors Defend The Movie’s 3 Hour Runtime
 Avengers: Endgame has a lot to cram into its run-time. It's essentially the finale to the last decade-plus of MCU storytelling, finishing the story that began way back in Captain America: The First Avenger when we first saw the Tesseract. Plus, each one of its gargantuan cast of characters deserves their own moment in the spotlight and nobody wants to see, say, the Guardians of the Galaxy heroes being short-changed. That's why the announcement that Endgame was to be three hours long wasn't exactly a big surprise.

New Report Says We May Get Two Star Wars: Episode IX Trailers This Month
The release of the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX is sure to generate a lot of headlines. For one thing, the franchise is now at the centre of some half-baked culture war, while Star Wars also has something to prove after the flop of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Plus, you can be sure that many people will be scrutinizing every frame of the resurrected Carrie Fisher. Beyond all that, though, it's also the finale of the trilogy and the final chapter in the nine-film Skywalker saga. With all that to accomplish, it would be very nice to see a preview or at minimum learn the film's official title sometime soon.

Marvel Fans Are Already Selling Avengers: Endgame Tickets On eBay
We all know Avengers: Endgame is going to be big. We don't know if it's going to match the heights of Infinity War, we don't know what the MCU will look like when it's all over and we don't know which of our favorite heroes is going to make it to the end credits - but we do know that the film is destined to become one of (if not the) biggest films of the year. This means it's going to have an absolutely gargantuan opening weekend, which will mean there'll be sold out screenings on opening night (particularly for more exclusive IMAX tickets).

Haunting New Trailer For Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile Debuts
Necrophiliac serial killer Ted Bundy seems to be en vogue at the moment. Joe Berlinger's documentary Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes was a huge hit, yet led to Netflix putting out a statement reminding their viewers that this is not somebody to take a fancy to. That said, they're going about it in a funny way, as they recently picked up Berlinger's second Bundy project: Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

WB Debuts Haunting First Poster For Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Movie
Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix look set to deliver something very special this year with Joker. It appears that the hype machine for the film is about to properly kick off this week, as there will be a teaser trailer tomorrow that will give us our first proper look at Phoenix's take on the Clown Prince of Crime. Avengers: Endgame Said To Have A Shocking First Act
Opinions may differ on the quality of Marvel Studios' films, but their ability to keep a secret is second to none. Audiences around the world were shocked and saddened by the climactic end of Avengers: Infinity War, in which Thanos executed his plan to kill half the galaxy. It's a development that was kept completely secret right up until release, giving fans on opening night quite the surprise. So I'll be taking with a grain of salt this post on Reddit from someone who claims to be working on Avengers: Endgame.

Kooky First Poster For The Addams Family Halloween Debuts
The Addams Family have been absent from cinema screens for too long. It's been a whopping 26 years since Addams Family Values hit cinemas (the less said about the straight-to-video 1998 Addams Family Reunion the better). But now they're back - in animated form! Judging by this just-released poster, it appears that Addams Family Halloween is going to stick very closely to cartoonist Charles Addams' original designs in the comic strip. Liam Neeson Issues New Apology For His Weird Racist Revenge Fantasy
Promoting your new movie is a slightly dull but necessary job for actors. The drill is usually that you sit in a hotel room chatting to a series of interviewers from various publications. It's pretty boilerplate stuff: you say the movie is great, that your character was interesting to play, that the director is wonderful, that you got on famously with the other cast members and then you talk about that time your friend got raped and you went out looking for a black guy to murder. Wait, actually, uh, better skip that last one.
