The Walking Dead Hits New Ratings Low Following Rick’s Exit
Season 9 of The Walking Dead was supposed to be a return to form after a somewhat muted reaction to season 8. It seems that this isn’t entirely going to plan, however. Last Sunday's episode, "Stradivarius," scored a lowly 4.79 million viewers, giving it a 1.8 rating in the key 18 to 49 demographic, which makes it the least watched live episode in the show's long history. Now that Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes is gone, are viewers going to stick around for the long haul?

While the fan rumor mill in the early 1980s was nowhere near the streamlined, fast-paced thing it is today, Star Wars fans still feverishly and passionately discussed what they thought might happen in Return of the Jedi. Given that The Empire Strikes Back so famously ended with Darth Vader revealing he was Luke Skywalker's father, many got to wondering who Luke's mother might have been. Now, obviously we now know that Luke's mom was Padme Amidala/Skywalker, but back then, it seemed very much up in the air.

Maniac Cop Director Teases The Tone And Theme Of The Remake
1988's Maniac Cop is pretty damn far from a horror classic, but all the same there's a certain something about its grungy grindhouse charms. It was the perfect kind of movie to perpetually haunt the horror shelves of VHS rental shops, and as such has gradually gained a reputation as a cult classic (having Bruce Campbell in it probably also helps). Anyhow, proving that a good horror property can never stay dead for long, there's been persistent talk of a reboot or remake of the film, to be produced by Drive director Nicholas Winding Refn.

Here’s The Real Story On Doctor Who’s Supposedly Declining Ratings
Various unsavory corners of the media were practically salivating this week at the 'news' that Jodie Whittaker's first season as the Doctor was turning into a ratings disaster. The Sun and The Daily Mail claimed that ratings had 'plunged' after viewers were apparently turned off by "politically correct plots" and *those* gross and sticky corners of the internet leapt upon these stories like rabid dogs, eager for proof that they were right all along when they said Doctor Who would never work with a woman in the lead role.

Rami Malek Wishes Bohemian Rhapsody Had Delved Deeper Into Freddie Mercury’s Life
After a long and torturous production, the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody is in cinemas. The general verdict is that it's basically alright, with critics saying it does the job of telling the story of Queen but contains little in the way of inspiring sequences other than the concluding Live Aid concert. One big worry going in was that the movie would skate over Mercury's sexuality, filing the edges off the star's famous decadence in the hope of securing a commercially friendly rating and not turning off more conservative audience members.

Dan Ackroyd’s Confident Bill Murray Will Be In Ghostbusters 3
I've been a Ghostbusters fan since the early 90s, and the forever-rumored Ghostbusters 3 has been hyped up by Dan Ackroyd for about as long as I can remember. You might thank that 2016's all-female reboot would have knocked that particular nail on the head for good, but the film being totally crap seems to have reignited Ackroyd's proton pack and gotten him hyped up once more about a sequel to the first two outings starring the original cast (well, except Harold Ramis).
