Edgar Wright Wants To Ditch Comedy And Make A Straight Horror Film
Though the critically acclaimed Baby Driver was more of an action film than a comedy, it still had some extremely funny moments. That's kinda what you expect from Edgar Wright, who made his name with the excellent British comedy show Spaced before hitting gold with his Cornetto trilogy of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End. But now, courtesy of Discussing Film, we've heard that he'd like to expand his range and ditch the comedy altogether to make a straight horror movie without comedic elements.

If you're living in a state going through mid-term elections you'll no doubt be sick of endless political advertisements in which someone makes their opponent out to be the devil incarnate. Well, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has got one more for you. The target? Hugh Jackman. Reynolds and Jackman have had a light-hearted rivalry that's run through the Deadpool movies, with the merc with the mouth increasingly annoyed that Jackman's Wolverine gets all the critical attention and awards season buzz while he's left out in the Canadian cold.

The Titles For The Next Four Avatar Movies Have Leaked
Remember Avatar? I do, vaguely. I remember a lot of blue guys jumping around, a giant tree and someone who looked a bit like Duke Nukem driving a robot suit. Despite being the highest grossing film of all-time (with takings of $2.8 billion), it vanished from the popular consciousness pretty quickly. Ask someone who their favorite Na'vi is these days and the best you'll get is a funny look. But James Cameron and 20th Century Fox (and also probably Disney) are hoping that the public is hungry for more Pandora-based action, as they have a whopping four sequels in various stages of development.

Lucasfilm Executive Says That Star Wars’ Bothans Might Not Be Aliens
Ever since Mon Mothma said "Many Bothans died to bring us this information" in The Return of the Jedi, fans have been wondering just what the hell Bothans are. The now non-canon extended universe imagined them as a race of vaguely feline aliens, and there's a long running joke that Mothma was actually referring to an individual named 'Manny Bothans'. One thing that's generally assumed is that they are some unseen alien race.

Early Avengers: Infinity War Concept Art Reveals A Much Different Iron Spider
Spider-Man's upgrade to the Iron Spider suit in Avengers: Infinity War was probably necessary. Despite turning down an armored suit at the conclusion of Homecoming, preferring to remain a friendly neighborhood hero, it's doubtful he would've lasted long against Thanos and his minions without a bit more protection than fabric. While most seem to have agreed that the final Iron Spider suit looked great, this concept art below makes it look like it could've been even more stylish.

Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns Originally Killed Off Batman
Despite every bonkers thing that Frank Miller has said over the last decade or so, despite the iffy sequels and despite realizing that it's essentially a fascist power fantasy, The Dark Knight Returns is still a damn good comic (and was decently adapted by DC Animation a few years ago). The 1986 miniseries by Miller and Klaus Janson almost immediately redefined what Batman was, and its influences can still be seen all over contemporary portrayals of the hero, most notably in Ben Affleck's aged and paranoid take in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

It Doesn’t Sound Like We’ll See A Mama 2 Anytime Soon
2013's Mama impressed critics and raked it in at the box office. Given that the golden rule of horror cinema is that every success must beget at least one sequel (or these days, preferably an ever-expanding cinematic universe), many fans have been wondering where the hell Mama 2 is. Well, according to star Javier Botet, there were once plans, but they've fallen by the wayside.

Castlevania Producer Developing A Legend Of Zelda TV Series
It seems to be common consensus that season 2 of Netflix's Castlevania is a huge improvement over the first. Now Executive Producer Adi Shankar might be moving on to perhaps the best-loved and most critically acclaimed franchise in gaming history: The Legend of Zelda. As reported by The Wrap, Shankar posted on Instagram on Monday that he was "working with an iconic Japanese gaming company to adapt one of their iconic video games series into a series".

Los Angeles D.A. Drops Rape Charges Against Sylvester Stallone
Rambo, Rocky/Creed and The Expendables star Sylvester Stallone will not be facing rape charges. The Los Angeles County District Attorney has issued a statement explaining that there is "insufficient evidence to support a filing in addition to the allegations being made outside the statute of limitation". This was in response to a case presented by the Santa Monica Police Department based on the claims of a woman who filed a report over an alleged 1990s sexual assault.

New Casting Call Sheds More Light On Game Of Thrones Prequel Show
HBO's Game of Thrones has exceeded all expectations over the course of its run, becoming a bona fide pop culture phenomenon and proving that audiences are hungry for fantasy television. With the final season set to air in 2019, competing networks are gearing up for shows they think could attract an audience hungry for more swords n' spells. Amazon have their Lord of the Rings and The Wheel of Time shows in development and Netflix have their spin on Arthurian mythology in Cursed and the Henry Cavill starring The Witcher. But don't count HBO out completely, as they're eager to keep the Thrones fire burning with their as-yet-untitled prequel series.
