HBO Releases Two Surreal Promos For Watchmen TV Show
We've known for a while that HBO's Watchmen 'remix' wasn't going to be a slavish Zack Snyder-style retelling of the original. Based on set leaks, it's looking like it's going to be a semi-sequel to the original comic, presumably following up on the impact of Ozymandius' genocidal plan to bring about world peace. But these latest promos revealed by the show's Instagram account depict a world that honestly looks pretty damn surreal.

Hugh Jackman Says Wolverine Will Return, But He Probably Won’t Play Him
2017's Logan was as fine a send-off as a character can get on film. Despite Hugh Jackman's Wolverine being one of the best things about Fox's X-Universe, there was always a sense that he never got the movie he deserved. He was great as part of an ensemble in efforts like X2: X-Men United and Days of Future Past, but his solo outings stunk up the place pretty bad (and I include the honestly dull The Wolverine in that). Logan redeemed the role for one last hurrah though, but it also made fans realize that they loved Jackman so much that they really didn't want him to go.

First Trailer For The Lion King Remake May Drop This Week
Disney has really gone all in on their live-action adaptations of their classic films lately. Since 2015's Cinderella, we've seen The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast clean up at the box office, and they're soon to be followed by Dumbo, Aladdin, Lady and the Tramp, Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, The Sword in the Stone and Peter Pan. But there's one Disney animated classic that's the 800 pound gorilla in their catalogue. We're talking, of course, about The Lion King, and it's sounding like we might get a trailer for it imminently.

Zack Snyder Praises Fans Who Support His Justice League Cut
Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! No.. it's Superma.. Oh wait, it is a plane. And it's trailing a banner which reads "Release the Snyder Cut". That's what you'd have seen if you'd have looked into the skies above Warner Bros' Burbank Offices - the latest eye-catching development in the ongoing fan campaign to get Zack Snyder's original cut of Justice League some kind of release. This particular stunt was the result of a campaign by fans to raise many for the American Federation for Suicide Prevention - of whom Snyder is a high profile advocate ever since he lost his daughter Autumn to suicide in early 2017.

Birds Of Prey Star Says It’s A Suicide Squad Spinoff, Sort Of
Despite some pretty nasty reviews, Suicide Squad is one of Warner Bros.' most successful movies in the DCEU, and they're eager to follow up on it. While Suicide Squad 2 and Joker and Harley Quinn don't seem to be going anywhere fast, the studio's at least managed to get Birds of Prey into gear, and it's just entered full production. This shouldn't come as a huge surprise, either, as the film recently announced some major casting coups and promised the introduction of a number of fan favorite characters.

The Walking Dead Hits New Ratings Low Following Rick’s Exit
Season 9 of The Walking Dead was supposed to be a return to form after a somewhat muted reaction to season 8. It seems that this isn’t entirely going to plan, however. Last Sunday's episode, "Stradivarius," scored a lowly 4.79 million viewers, giving it a 1.8 rating in the key 18 to 49 demographic, which makes it the least watched live episode in the show's long history. Now that Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes is gone, are viewers going to stick around for the long haul?

While the fan rumor mill in the early 1980s was nowhere near the streamlined, fast-paced thing it is today, Star Wars fans still feverishly and passionately discussed what they thought might happen in Return of the Jedi. Given that The Empire Strikes Back so famously ended with Darth Vader revealing he was Luke Skywalker's father, many got to wondering who Luke's mother might have been. Now, obviously we now know that Luke's mom was Padme Amidala/Skywalker, but back then, it seemed very much up in the air.

Maniac Cop Director Teases The Tone And Theme Of The Remake
1988's Maniac Cop is pretty damn far from a horror classic, but all the same there's a certain something about its grungy grindhouse charms. It was the perfect kind of movie to perpetually haunt the horror shelves of VHS rental shops, and as such has gradually gained a reputation as a cult classic (having Bruce Campbell in it probably also helps). Anyhow, proving that a good horror property can never stay dead for long, there's been persistent talk of a reboot or remake of the film, to be produced by Drive director Nicholas Winding Refn.
