Black Widow gets the spotlight in a new Avengers: Endgame TV spot, which shows Natasha Romanoff reflecting on all she’s gained and lost over the years.
The fans are still buzzing from all the recent revelations at this month’s Star Wars Celebration, but if you’ve already started wondering when the next big event for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might be, Making Stars Wars has relayed some news from a “well respected source” with “an excellent track record for accuracy.”
The recently unveiled trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker gave fans a lot to process, from the title reveal, to Rey’s showdown with a TIE fighter. But the biggest bombshell dropped by the teaser was almost certainly the return of Sheev Palpatine.
In the last two years, Marvel Studios has released its first female-fronted film and its first with a black lead. And since both movies passed the billion-dollar mark at the box office, you can imagine that the production house has every incentive to keep diversifying their superhero roster. Sure enough, in a recent interview with IANS, Kevin Feige hinted that the team intends to bring some body positivity into the franchise very soon.
The recently unveiled title of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker seems specifically chosen to fuel speculation on who the Skywalker in question might be, in which case, the fans have been all too happy to oblige. In the last week, we’ve already heard various arguments for why the name could be referring to Kylo Ren, Luke or even a new spiritual order inspired by Luke’s teachings. But in a new ScreenRant article, the case is made that a novel released last year already revealed Rey to be a true Skywalker.
The upcoming Avengers: Endgame serves as the culmination point for over a decade of superhero cinema, bringing closure to the so-called “Infinity Saga,” while finishing the arcs of some of the MCU’s biggest stars. Indeed, it’s an endgame in more ways than one, making it only natural that somewhere down the line we all started assuming that it would be the final entry in Marvel’s Phase 3. But in the week before Endgame’s release, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige took it upon himself to dispel this myth.
Though the billion-dollar box office success of Captain Marvel has ensured a place for Carol Danvers in the future of the franchise, the heroine’s plans beyond this month’s Avengers: Endgame remain a little unclear. But should Brie Larson’s character be looking for a partner to explore the cosmos with, Karen Gillan has argued that Nebula could make for a fitting companion.
Avengers: Endgame is now a mere six days away from release, and currently has some insane levels of hype to live up to. In a recent interview with the Toronto Sun, however, Karen Gillan suggested that the Avengers: Infinity War sequel will be everything the fans are hoping for.
Last year’s Avengers: Infinity War was charged with juggling an overwhelming array of characters, which meant that even some of the MCU’s biggest stars were essentially pushed into supporting roles. Take Captain America, who was given a total of just 25 lines in the whole two-and-a-half-hour movie. Sure, he gets a few memorable moments here and there, but you could’ve written him out of the film entirely and the plot would’ve been more or less the same.
Next week’s Avengers: Endgame will see the long-awaited return of Hawkeye. And with the famed archer set to make his first MCU appearance since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, there’s every possibility that his family will also get some screen time in the Phase 3 finale.
