The full list of nominations for the 2011 Independent Spirit Awards has been released, and boy is the playing field....even. Of the six films nominated for Best Feature, The Artist barely takes a lead with five nominations total, while Drive, Beginners, Take Shelter and The Descendants have four and 50/50 has three.
Oh boy, was it really only nine days ago when I posted the first possibly likely leak of the prologue for The Dark Knight Rises? Another Bane-centric prologue description leaked today, and this one seems to be way more legit than the first. With the recent official announcement that the prologue will be premiering before Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, everyday that goes by seems to make "leaks" more probable.

In a recent interview, Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale confirmed what many have been assuming for quite sometime: The Dark Knight Rises will be the final film in Christopher Nolan's uber-successful Batman series, rounding out the films as the third in a trilogy. Bale discussed the final days of Dark Knight Rises filming, in which he got to remove his Batman hood for the last time, before he said the words we knew were coming.

Here's something to be thankful for: a second collection of Adventure Time With Finn and Jake episodes, called "It Came From The Nightosphere," is gonna punch punch retailers near you in the face when it comes out on DVD March 6. This will be the second DVD collection of the incredibly popular Cartoon Network series, chronicling the fun that never ends between Jake the dog, Finn the human, and their eclectic friend group.
Fanboys and fangirls, rejoice: the sequel to nerd deity J.J. Abrams's 2009 Stark Trek reboot has an official release date, and it's not too far away. The Star Trek sequel will land at a theater near you on May 17, 2013. Little is known about the film's plot, but we do know that Abrams will be making the film in 3D and that the central cast will be returning. Expect to see your faves - Chris Pine (Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Karl Urban (Bones), John Cho (Sulu), and Anton Yelchin (Chekov) - back on the big screen.
Ken Watanabe is the leading actor currently wanted for the role of the Colonel in Akira, after much speculation that Gary Oldman was originally wanted for the part. After a series of controversial casting decisions, including that of Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund, Watanabe would be the first Japanese actor cast in the Japanese-influenced film, next to an all-Caucasian cast.
Earlier today, a photograph exploded onto the internet of what appeared to be Ellen Page's trailer near The Dark Knight Rises set, with the name "B. Gordon" written under it in quotation marks. This made Batman fans a-flutter with the idea that Ellen Page could secretly be playing Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner Gordon, who later becomes Batgirl.
Today's letter is the letter "F," and fittingly, Xbox.com is listing the previously 400-Microsoft-Point Sesame Street: Once Upon A Monster downloadable chapter, "Unidentified Furry Objects" for free. In the new chapter, the lovable Sesame Street crew meets some brightly-colored aliens, who need their help. Everyone but Oscar is enlisted in this journey, taking Sesame Street to all new ridiculously adorable and silly heights.
