Now that Gotham's fifth and final season is officially underway, we join Bruce Wayne on the final leg of his journey to becoming Batman. Of course, a host of villains are guaranteed to be along for the ride, with newcomer Bane joining returning favorites such as Penguin, Riddler and Scarecrow. Oh yeah, let's also not forget about Jeremiah Valeska lurking in the shadows.
This past summer, the producers of Arrow held their cards incredibly close to the vest. Basically, all we knew going into season 7 was that Oliver Queen would remain in prison for some time and that a new Emerald Archer had shown up in town.
When it comes to the greatest Batman stories ever told in the comic book medium, the current decade has seen several of them adapted to fantastic animated movies. To name of a few of the classics, Year One, The Dark Knight Returns, The Killing Joke, Under The Red Hood and Gotham by Gaslight have each been brought to incredible life via Warner Home Entertainment's DC-themed direct-to-video line.
Of the many memorable moments which occurred during Titans' fantastic first season, a personal favorite of mine had to be the introduction of Jason Todd. I mean, not only was this character's live action debut long overdue, but Curran Walters proved to be the perfect actor for the role.
No matter how much physical harm or mental trauma they may endure, there are just certain characters on Gotham that we view as being "safe." When it comes to the likes of Bruce Wayne, Jim Gordon, Penguin and Riddler, it's fair to say none of those guys listed will be killed off at any point.
If you tuned in for tonight's outing of Gotham, then you participated in the first part of what's sure to be one hell of a ride. Hey, if the brief flash forward showing Jim Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Penguin and Riddler fighting side by side in order to stave off an invading army didn't grab your interest, I don't know what will.
As a longtime viewer of Supernatural, I can say that the series has done a fine job of wrapping up dangling plot threads in due time. Although, I'm still waiting for updates regarding how "our" Michael has been doing since being locked in "the cage" near the end of season 5, not to mention whatever happened to that Antichrist kid introduced during the same year of programming.
Aside from likely having to safeguard a young Cassandra Cain from the sadistic Black Mask, not much is currently known about the plot to the Birds of Prey movie. Although, its subtitle, "The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn," is more telling than one would think.
Odd as it may seem, the upcoming Birds of Prey movie won't see an appearance made by Barbara Gordon. I know, whether she be addressed as either "Oracle" or "Batgirl," the Commish's daughter is arguably the heroine most synonymous with that particular superhero squad. But I guess we can't always get what we want.
