Diaz has been linked to the project for over a year now without any confirmation from the actress. Sources at The Wrap announced today that a sealed deal is anticipated by the end of the week.
The first trailer for R.I.P.D. arrives amid a flurry of headlines marking the inevitable comparisons to Men In Black. With Jeff Bridges channeling Tommy Lee Jones' old gruffer, and Ryan Reynolds as the Will Smith newbie, it's no wonder reactions have been reserved. R.I.P.D. finds Reynolds' recently deceased cop thrust into an afterlife where he still has to go to work for the Rest In Peace Department. Hunting down ghouls and zombies unleashing unholy hell on Earth? Sounds like the shagbaby of Men In Black meets Life On Mars! Teaming up with Bridges' old timer, the duo form the basis for a supernatural buddy cop romp with a gamut of CGI nasties to defeat.
Stephen King material has always been lucrative fodder for Hollywood. Over 35 years of films adapted from his works have drawn in audiences to varying degrees of success (Ahem, Maximum Overdrive anyone?). As time passes his works continue to make their mark on cinema. The recent Room 237 documentary on The Shining spun out the most tenuous links ever forged in film theory, and yesterday news broke that a prequel; The Overlook Hotel, is being written by The Walking Dead's Glen Mazzara. It's clear the world is gagging for more King and now, a press release spotted by Dread Central reveals that a Cujo remake is in development.
Adapted from a novel whose narrator is a tapeworm gestating inside the tract of the protagonist, Filth aims to amp up the debauchery and pile on the sexual shenanigans in this latest Irvine Welsh adaptation. It's been a long while since a novel of Welsh's has hit the big screen and from the looks of the first red band trailer, the material has branched out further into the realm of the Scottish author's own brand of madness.

One of the hottest franchises in Hollywood, the films have become big buck earners for all involved...as long as you can keep up with the pace.
The upcoming Carrie remake has delivered its first full-length theatrical trailer today, following on from the first teaser which hit late last year. From the moment the casting announcements were made, pitting Kick Ass bad ass Chloe Grace Moretz against the brilliant Julianne Moore, the movie has garnered attention from beyond the boundaries of its genre. This latest trailer expands on the talents of Moore and Moretz under the direction of Kimberly Peirce and offers up further insight into the world of Carrie White. You can check it out below.
For the Hollywood elite a name can make a career, propel a film into the far reaches of a large vat of cash and break hearts. Do you think The Wizard of Oz would have been the success it was if Frances Ethel Gumm instead of Judy Garland had played Dorothy? No! The head of MGM would have demanded to know why someone’s Grandma was in the film.
We all make 'em. Whether it's to Domino's for another large with extra funghi, or to our Mothers to ask if our laundry's ready. Dialing up and making a phone call is an social activity which, as a method for communication has remained steadfast, despite advances in technology. If anything, we make more calls now we can *gasp* take our phones with us everywhere! (except the vets, they won't let you.) Needless to say, cinema has relayed many a chunk of exposition and set up plenty of heists via the ole dog and bone. With this week's release of the Halle Berry flick, The Call, in which a 911 operator gets an unforgettable call from a person in distress, we saw it fit to debate which phone calls in cinema we deem the most memorable. Read on!
