Stuck in development hell for years, comedy drama Honeymoon With Harry has at last been given a new lease of life. Per Deadline, New Line Cinema has brought fresh blood aboard the ten-year old property in the hopes of making production a reality. First up, the studio's roped in Crazy, Stupid, Love scribe Dan Fogelman to punch up the script and is expected to secure Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro in the two lead roles.
Filmmaker Neill Blomkamp stirred things up earlier in the week, by publishing unseen concept art from his previously-unheard-of Alien project. With xenomorph devotees the world over mourning the loss of a movie we'll likely never see, you can't deny the fact that when Blomkamp's interested - he throws himself all in. With that in mind, we can turn to a movie that is on its way - Chappie. While it doesn't include any acid-blooded extraterrestrials, it does bear more than a passing resemblance to several schlocky 80s flicks.
We can likely lay blame for this latest Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice rumour at the feet of an overachieving DC fan with a penchant for Photoshop skills that land in the 'gritty, blurry realism' column. OR, could this outrageous suggestion be truth hidden in plain sight? We're hoping for the latter because that means we're getting the first part of the movie, Batman V Superman: Enter The Knight on October 23rd... this year.
Before Pacific Rim was even a glint in his eye, screenwriter Travis Beacham's heart and soul went into his fantastic spec script, A Killing On Carnival Row. A supernatural steampunk mystery, it fast became one of the industry's most well-loved unproduced scripts after Beacham sold it to New Line back in 2005. Master of genre, Guillermo Del Toro stepped up to the plate in the hopes of directing it, before Neil Jordan and Tarsem Singh contemplated the same. After a while the project fell stagnant and it languished away in development limbo.
This week has been replete with a ton of new Ant-Man treats, and that trend looks set to continue thanks to EW's extensive coverage. In addition to the cheeky new poster honing in on the titular hero's stature, we've finally laid our eyes on the impressive teaser trailer and a slew of new images. In today's latest instalment of their set visit, the outlet has unveiled new concept art focused on Ant-Man's enemy, Yellowjacket.
Since the announcement of Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot, one of the central names heading up a potential wishlist to star has been Melissa McCarthy. Hotly tipped to be leading the reboot which will see a whole new roster of female spook hunters on the rampage, it has now emerged that McCarthy is in early talks to secure the role.
Following the lacklustre Taken 2, Liam Neeson himself said back in September 2012 that it was highly unlikely that Taken 3 would ever go into production. Yet, here we are a little over two years later and that third chapter is about to launch into theaters across the country. As part of pre-release press for the flick, Neeson sat down with Yahoo! Movies to discuss the upcoming trilogy closer, during which matters turned to the inevitable question - will there be a Taken 4?
Since April last year, four different trailers for David Cronenberg's skewed Hollywood riff, Maps To The Stars, have hit the web. It's safe to say the deranged awe which has surrounded most of its advance critical spin has been heavily hinted at across those teasers, as well as various clips. Still, its official theatrical release will be upon us soon, and in the run up to its widespread debut a final full-length trailer and new one-sheet poster have arrived online (via Collider).
The Emmy-winning crime series Fargo has landed a score of big names for its sophomore season. Loosely based on the Coen Brothers 1996 flick, the first season was a huge hit with fans and critics alike. That favourable response led to FX flashing the greenlight for season two which is gearing up to go into production shortly.
After watching the first teaser trailer for Marvel's Ant-Man, you might be surprised to learn that the titular character isn't actually an ant that's man-sized. As nifty a concept as that would be, that playful idea is spun the other way around. Played by a full-size Paul Rudd, the hero of this latest comic book adventure embraces Ant-Man technology to shrink to the size of an ant while simultaneously acquiring brute strength. Yanked from Marvel's hefty back catalogue, the big screen release is on everyone's lips this week following that low-key teaser debut.
