According to TheWrap, the Joker may have found a cell mate for David Ayer's Suicide Squad. The site reports that the Gang Related and Hostel alum Jay Hernandez may be the latest to join the expansive cast of the hotly-anticipated villain team-up and is currently in negotiations for a mystery role.
Super-powered individuals may run rampant on the streets of Central City each week on The Flash, but Arrow exists in a more realistic, "grounded" corner of the DC TV universe. That may soon change, however, as IGN has learned that Oliver Queen will soon go up against his very first metahuman.
Fan-favorite teleporting mutant Nightcrawler was a scene stealer in 2003's X2: X-Men United, but has remained absent from the franchise ever since. Thankfully, that's about to change, as Bryan Singer has announced that a young version of the character will be in next year's X-Men: Apocalypse and that he'll be played by Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Let Me In actor Kodi Smit-McPhee.
A batch of new images from Gotham's strangely-titled upcoming episode, "Everyone Has A Cobblepot," have appeared online, showing the return of young Assistant District Attorney Harvey Dent - played by Masters of Sex alum Nicholas D'Agosto - and the debut of the creepy serial killer known as the Dollmaker.
Tonight's episode of Gotham was, undoubtedly, the series' most important for one simple reason: the introduction of the Joker. The iconic Clown Prince of Crime is so beloved by fans and so important to the Batman mythos that if Gotham botched it, it would have dealt quite the blow to longtime Bat fans and forever sealed its fate in their minds. I say this with confidence because I'm one of the people who considered giving up on the series entirely if "The Blind Fortune Teller" dropped the ball on this important character.
After what amounted to a bit of an extensive search over the past month, the trades are now reporting that Joel Kinnaman has replaced Tom Hardy in Suicide Squad. The Robocop and The Killing star will play Rick Flag, the leader of the titular supervillain team working for Viola Davis' Amanda Waller.
Of all the upcoming DC Comics films from Warner Brothers that are coming down the pipeline, David Ayer's Suicide Squad is undoubtedly one of our most anticipated. It's also one of the most mysterious of the current 10-film slate, especially in regards to how it connects to the rest of the burgeoning DC Cinematic Universe. Outside of its large and impressive cast, as well as a few plot rumors, there's not much concrete information to go on. According to co-stars Will Smith and Margot Robbie, though - who play Squad members and iconic DC villains Deadshot and Harley Quinn - that's all part of Ayer's plan.
It looks like Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has gained another potentially Inhuman cast member in the form of The Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy alum, Drea de Matteo. The Emmy Award-winning actress will appear in an unspecified upcoming episode as Karla Faye Gideon, a "gifted woman with a grudge to bear against S.H.I.E.L.D., who joins forces with Skye's father." The role will reunite Matteo with her former Desperate Housewives co-star, Kyle Maclachlan, who plays Skye's father, Dr. Calvin Zabo.
Now that Spider-Man shares a cinematic universe with Marvel Studios' characters, we have a few ideas about who should cross over into the next Spidey film.
Last week I praised Gotham for finally finding its place in the TV landscape and delivering its best episode to date. I even went so far as to recommend that those who'd long given up on the show return. If you listened to me and did just that, I want to apologize, because the high point of tonight's episode came when Bruce Wayne threw some rocks while on a hike.
