Just the other day, we brought you a fascinating behind the scenes look at Tom Hooper's upcoming adaptation of Les Miserables, the musical by Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, itself based on the novel by Victor Hugo.
In celebration of Hobbit Day, the day that both Bilbo and Frodo Baggins were born, a new poster has been unveiled for the first part of Peter Jackson's epic adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit.
Gus Van Sant has had a rather interesting career. He's brought us some amazing films such as Good Will Hunting, Milk, and Elephant, though he has also had his share of duds like Paranoid Park and his misguided shot-for-shot remake of Psycho. Now the two-time Academy Award nominee is back with his latest work entitled Promised Land.
Just yesterday, we brought you the second trailer for the first part in Peter Jackson's highly-anticipated adaptation of The Hobbit. Like many others, I watched it a number of times and marveled at its beauty and epicness, but apparently the wealth of new footage did not end there.
It seems like we've been getting inundated with some pretty lousy horror movies as of late, which leaves a lot of room for anyone who wants to make a genuinely frightening horror film to step right in to fill the gap. Perhaps that's just what writer/director Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) will do with his new horror flick Sinister.
With less than three months to go before The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is released in theaters, anticipation is continuing to build. We recently got the great news that a new trailer for the film will finally be dropping on Wednesday in celebration of Tolkien Week (which contains the birthdays of both Bilbo and Frodo Baggins), but with the continued surge of marketing, it turns out we don't even have to wait to get a small glimpse of what we could be seeing in the trailer.
So far, we've gotten a lot of information about the currently-shooting season 3 of the hit HBO show Game of Thrones. This includes new characters and cast members as well as a premiere date, but what we hadn't seen as of yet was an official look at the new season.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has never been one of my favorite horror franchises. In fact, I'm probably in the minority in thinking that the original 1974 film was one of the most boring horror films out there. However, they obviously have at least a little popularity still left out there, with a remake and prequel being made in the last ten years.
So far, we haven't seen much of the new Jack Ryan film that recently began shooting. In fact, all we've seen are images of Chris Pine on a motorcycle, followed by Pine and Kevin Costner walking away from a helicopter.
