Disney Home Entertainment has announced The Muppets for Blu-Ray in March. The latest Muppets film stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and a slew of other actors and actresses in various cameo roles. The James Bobin directed film will be presented in a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack and a special 3 disc edition "Wocka Wocka Value Pack", which includes the Blu-Ray, DVD and digital copy/soundtrack download.
Anchor Bay has announced the Japanese cult-classic Battle Royale for Blu-Ray in March. This is the first time the film has yet to be released on Blu-Ray in North America and it will be coming in two separate packages, one for the everyday collector (Battle Royale Director's Cut) and one for the die-hard fans (Battle Royale: The Complete Collection). Oddly enough the film will be tying in with the theatrical release of Lionsgate's The Hunger Games, which shares very similar plot points.
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced the American Pie trilogy (American Pie, American Pie 2 and American Wedding) for Blu-ray in March. The original three Pie films will be hitting the shelves just in time for American Reunion, which opens in theaters on April 6th, 2012. The series stars Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy.
