It's been a few months since Skrillex and Dillon Francis' "Bun Up The Dance" hit the airwaves, and the infectious moombahton record has finally received an official music video. Directed by David Helman and produced by Pulse Films, the video makes for a vibrant accompaniment to an already memorable track from Francis' This Mixtape is Fire EP that features a handful of talented performers.
We Got This Covered wants to give you the chance to show up to Armin Van Buuren's Halloween show at Pier 94 in style with two VIP tickets and even meet the man of the hour himself! Armin will be releasing his highly anticipated album, Embrace, on the same day (October 30th) making his NYC performance an occasion not to miss.
It's no secret that Armin Van Buuren is a hotly debated fixture of the global trance community. On one hand, the A State Of Trance founder and only artist to be named DJ Mag #1 DJ a record of five times has solidified his place in the genre through a career of genuine devotion to his craft, but it also can't be denied that his recent performances have exhibited a significant mainstream leaning.
There aren't a whole lot of producers pushing the boundaries of future house - a style which is gradually fading in popularity as all fad genres eventually do - but by the looks of things Mr. Belt & Wezol intend to turn some heads with their latest track. It's hard to know how they managed to talk Spinnin' Deep into signing off on something as experimental as "RDY2FLY," but suffice it to say that at the very least it's starting some conversations.
Anyone closely following the releases of Major Lazer knows that the EDM/dancehall outfit would be following up their most recent album, Peace Is The Mission with another titled Music Is The Weapon - but it appears as though the project's originator, Diplo, has decided to throw us all a curveball. According to the Mad Decent label head, Peace Is The Mission 2.0 will come out sometime in November.
Nothing like a good, cheesy trance song to get the day going. Dash Berlin is known for putting out the sort of uplifting trance anthems that ignite festival main stage crowds in euphoric movement, and his new collaboration with Dubvision, titled "Yesterday Is Gone," certainly meets that criteria.
Last week, Zhu premiered his and Skrillex's collaboration at CRSSD festival - but the two of them have just made a higher-quality preview of the track available with an accompanying video. We now know that the songs is titled "Working For It" and also features vocal samples and other creative input from THEY.
For the second time, entertainment mogul Robert Sillerman has made an offer to the shareholders of his company, SFX Entertainment, in an attempt to take it private once more. 2015 has turned out to be a disastrous year for the company between its plummet in stock price and a handful of looming lawsuits, and Sillerman's last-ditch effort to return the company to some semblance of profitability stands as further proof that it's on its way out.
Michael Calfan's been calling his recent style "soul house" or "melodic house." I call it department store house. Don't get me wrong - I've been loving that the electronic music world rediscovered house music in such a big way over the last few years. I've never seen so many hip young people bump proper four-four beats, and it proves that dance music fans aren't as nearsighted as the media makes them out to be. However, songs like Calfan's "Breaking the Doors" are simply watered-down versions of what so many of us hold sacred for mainstream audiences.
