Dillon Francis and Madeon won't even start sharing stages every other night until next month, but it looks like they couldn't wait to start spending time in the same creative space. Francis has released a remix of Madeon's 2014 track "Imperium" that seasons the driving melody of the original with some of the former artist's signature wonk.
It's obvious by now that Martin Garrix really wanted to make the 2015 festival season count. The Dutch DJ/producer kicked things things off back in the spring with a massive Tiësto collaboration, and followed it up with a series of benchmark releases in the months to follow - and even as the season draws to a close he's fitting new material in wherever he can.
Kygo's got an instrumental itch, and it doesn't look as though he scratched it quite hard enough when he uploaded "Piano Jam" a couple weeks ago. It's no secret that the Norwegian DJ/producer started learning to play the piano all the way back in early childhood, but he appears to be waxing especially nostalgic these days as he's taken to showing off his piano chops not once but twice.
A legitimate criticism of just about any EDM genre is it could probably have sufficed at one song or album - so on the occasion that an artist manages create a piece of music that pushes the boundaries of what a particular style is expected to sound like, the electronic music community pays attention. As such, it stands to reason that Dutch DJ/producer Julian Jordan will become a household name in the months to follow if "Lost Words" is any indication.
It looks as though Audien has got another EP coming down the pipeline, and he couldn't wait to give his fans a taste of what's in store. The Mystic, Connecticut-based producer has revealed the forthcoming release of DAYDREAMS, sharing a sound bite from one of its tracks in the process.
Seattle-based downtempo/future bass duo Odesza have very quickly reached a considerable fan base over their short time as an outfit. 2014 saw the release of their sophomore album, In Return, and in the months to follow they've played sold out shows at nightclubs, venues and festivals across the world.
When will Jack Ü and Justin Bieber's "Where Are Ü Now" finally die?! The Skrillex and Diplo side project have been parading the track around for what seems like forever now, and following their performance at HARD Summer in Southern California, they've released a recap video of the performance as well as the rehearsals leading up to it.
It's been a big festival season for The Chainsmokers. Between releasing a handful of tracks that would redefine their sound and collaborating with the likes of Tiësto, the New York City-based duo have done much to prove themselves to be more than one-hit wonders in the wake of last year's breakout track "#SELFIE." To close things out in style, the boys have also announced a North American tour that will begin in the fall and end in the winter.
Why is it that every one of Skrillex's collaborations other than the Jack Ü project still manages to turn out quality music? He and bass house poster child Jauz teamed up on a track recently that the latter artist debuted at Summer Set Music & Camping Festival in Wisconsin over the weekend, and you owe it to yourself to check out.
There aren't a great many artists at the top of the EDM game that I shower in praise on a regular basis, but both deadmau5 and Eric Prydz have made such staggering contributions to progressive house that I don't consider my glowing reviews of their work to be puff pieces. As such, you might imagine my excitement upon learning of a possible collaboration between the two global icons.
