Microsoft To Boot Up A New Kinect Centred Studio
Microsoft Game Studios today pulled the curtain up for their new development studio in Vancouver. The team is still recruiting and being fully assembled, but it seems that they will be part of the driving force behind Microsoft’s effort to convince gamers that Kinect can be utilized for core games.

The IP Shack #6: Obsessed With Zombies
For a group of gruesome and non-existent folk they seem to be unusually popular in the current times. It’s one of those things that seems like one of the most two dimensional narrative scapegoats, and yet it persists and continues to permeates our mediums of entertainment. I know I’m not the only one to have stepped back to consider how and possibly why these ‘zombies’ are literally creeping everywhere.

What Does Call Of The Dead Hold In Store For Us?
So now we have some insight into just what kind of crazy new zombie splattering madness Treyarch have been fitting together for us, and I don’t think anyone was expecting this. The official trailer went live a couple of days ago and gamers were shocked and delighted to learn that the new characters are a team of Hollywood ass-kickers.

PSN Crash: Update Summary April 27th
Today has been very eventful in terms of developments on the PSN crisis. Sony has been giving word to consumers all day about the status of the situation, and basically it seems that the company are starting to get to grips with the scope and degree of the situation.

Portal 2 Jumps To The Top Of UK Charts
Valve’s mind boggling puzzle game has managed to (unsurprisingly) sail to the top of the UK all platform charts this week, giving a strong performance in it’s opening week. Portal 2 has been getting extremely respectable review scores across the board, averaging out as the highest rated game of 2011 thus far.

Our TimeSplitters 4 Checklist
If you haven’t already heard then I’ll quickly reiterate: Crytek UK (formerly Free Radical) are currently hard at work on a secret title that will get a spectacular reveal at this year’s E3 convention. The developers were previously working on their long awaited next generation sequel to TimeSplitters: Future Perfect before the company went bust a couple of years back. Shortly after, the brains behind the Cry Engine 3 and its spawns quickly snapped up the studio from the dark hole of unemployment before their talent was lost.

PSN Down In Europe And North America
The Playstation Network is currently down in both Europe and North America, Sony have said that the PSN is undergoing maintenance and that they will update users on the expected timeframe as soon as possible. To me though, it appears that the hacking group Anonymous are back in action and are preying on Sony after openly admitting they had been targeting the company earlier last month.

Why Publishers Need To Start Observing The World Of Online Gaming
I’m a Killzone addict, a Black Ops nut, an Assassins Creed madman, a Burnout whore, a Transformers regular, and an Uncharted dreamer. So competitive multiplayer definitely makes up a large part of my gaming indulgences but yet recently I’ve been wondering about the whole situation with developers/publishers and cooperative modes.

PSPGo UK Stock Will ‘Not Be Receiving Replenishments’
MCV reports that electronic and game retailers have been told by their suppliers that they shouldn’t expect to receive any more PSPGo units after current stock have been sold. It seems that Sony are already making the transition to the NGP, slowly withdrawing the still relatively young PSPGo and preparing folks for their next major handheld device.

Rockstar Rumoured To Be Working On A Wii 2 Title
This is potentially big news as Rockstar are one of the most elite and respected publishers in the industry, and one of the few who consistently put out ‘hardcore’ titles. Nintendo has gained a reputation over the past few years of being the ‘casual console’ option, with PS3 and 360 owners sniggering at the likes of Epic Mickey and Super Mario Galaxy. The company haven’t particularly run away from this image either, in fact you could argue they embraced the judgement and sold their follow up products to this so called ‘casual market’.
