Mad Men Review: “Time & Life” (Season 7, Episode 11)
With this final season of Mad Men, the show’s writing staff has done a stellar job pushing the viewer toward the end, giving us glimpses of where beloved recurring characters will go and hinting at the fate (or fates) that will serve the main character. Joan and Peggy’s romantic interests and their continued prowess in the office suggest happy endings, while the palpable doom and isolation Don feels at the end of each episode implies a less satisfactory one.

Box Office Report: Furious 7 Wins Fourth Frame
The sixth sequel amassed another $18.3 million, getting its best hold yet with a 37% drop. It is the first movie since The Hunger Games in 2012 to top the box office for four straight weekends. Of course, without major new competition before the summer box office begins next weekend, another crowning position on the charts was expected.

The Water Diviner Review
Crowe’s feature directorial debut, The Water Diviner, is a step in the right direction – even if it is a largely hit-and-miss affair. One can clearly see the influence of Crowe's collaborators, Peter Weir and Ridley Scott, in this historical drama. Crowe stars as Joshua Connor, an Australian farmer who ships off to Turkey with the hope of finding his three sons, presumed dead from the Battle of Gallipoli.

Box Office Report: Furious 7 Zooms Past Paul Blart
Vin Diesel and company continued their dominance over the North American box office, fending off two new releases that debuted respectfully. In its third lap, Furious 7 topped the box office with an estimated $29.1 million, a drop of 51% from last weekend. That is a third weekend now that's almost as good as American Sniper ($30.7 million), a film that will finish just shy of the $350 million mark.

Mad Men Review: “New Business” (Season 7, Episode 9)
“New Business” works best as an hour of Mad Men that explores the various women in Don’s life at once, to see how his relationships with them have succeeded, faltered or are somewhere in between. Even Sylvia eyes him in the elevator, spurring Diana to ponder about how many women he has bedded in the building. Betty has thrived being on her own without him and despite their past hostility, there seem to be few harsh feelings at the surface. (Don is even welcoming to Henry.) Currently, Megan is a sore spot in his life, but despite a very Betty-like wardrobe this week, Don even musters up an apology. It comes in the form of a $1 million check. For that sum, he can shrug off his guilt for, as Megan explains, punishing her for being young. However, does Diana occupy a place in Don’s bed and, ultimately, his life?
