Jordan Adler is a film buff who consumes so much popcorn, he expects that a coroner's report will one day confirm that butter runs through his veins. A recent graduate of Carleton's School of Journalism, where he also majored in film studies, Jordan's writing has been featured in Tribute Magazine, the Canadian Jewish News, Marketing Magazine, Toronto Film Scene, ANDPOP and SamaritanMag.com. Mad Men Review: “Lost Horizon” (Season 7, Episode 12)
Mad Men has always been a show about characters wanting more. That desire was often for a bigger office, a better account or a more fulfilling sex life. In the series’ final hours, it seems that the writers’ room is not gearing up for happy endings. To suggest that the drama will resolve tidily and optimistically seems sort of insulting, considering the pervasive sense of dysfunction and despair that has filled these characters for so many years.

Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck Review
It is hard to tell whether or not Kurt Cobain would have enjoyed Brett Morgen’s new documentary about him, one that scribbles his most revealing journal entries onto a big screen and digs into the deepest, darkest parts of his artistic temperament. Cobain was highly suspicious of journalists and didn’t like to explain the songs he wrote. He preferred letting the listener provide his or her own meaning to the music.

Box Office Report: Avengers: Age Of Ultron Is Another Marvel Smash
To the surprise of nobody, audiences assembled en masse to watch some of their favorite Marvel superheroes team up once again. Avengers: Age of Ultron earned the second biggest opening weekend of all time, rocketing to an estimated $187.7 million from 4,276 locations. That is a more muscular opening than Iron Man 3 two summers ago ($174.1 million), but a sizable 10% behind its predecessor ($207.4 million in 2012).

Preggoland Review
while Preggoland's dramatic core is solid, it rarely manages to hit the sweet spot with comedy, struggling to balance dark humor with broad, sitcom-like predicaments. Well, except for the one at the baby shower with the Jello and the dog - that one's simply hilarious.

Mad Men Review: “Time & Life” (Season 7, Episode 11)
With this final season of Mad Men, the show’s writing staff has done a stellar job pushing the viewer toward the end, giving us glimpses of where beloved recurring characters will go and hinting at the fate (or fates) that will serve the main character. Joan and Peggy’s romantic interests and their continued prowess in the office suggest happy endings, while the palpable doom and isolation Don feels at the end of each episode implies a less satisfactory one.

The Water Diviner Review
Crowe’s feature directorial debut, The Water Diviner, is a step in the right direction – even if it is a largely hit-and-miss affair. One can clearly see the influence of Crowe's collaborators, Peter Weir and Ridley Scott, in this historical drama. Crowe stars as Joshua Connor, an Australian farmer who ships off to Turkey with the hope of finding his three sons, presumed dead from the Battle of Gallipoli.
