The first trailer has been released for The Forest, the upcoming supernatural thriller which takes place in Aokigahara, a "suicide forest" at the base of Mt. Fuji. Many people choose to go there to end their lives, and as you might expect, it's now become a source of inspiration for some filmmakers (Gus Van Sant took a crack at it with Sea of Trees, but the response to that at Cannes was overwhelmingly negative).
Up until now, the most we've had from Marvel Studios in a single calendar year is two movies. That looks set to change in Phase 3 though thanks to returning characters and the debuts of new ones, like Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange, but as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow, could we reach a point where we're seeing as many as four or five releases per year from them?
Marvel's Phase 3 kicks off with next year's Captain America: Civil War, a movie which promises to shake the foundations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to its very core. While it begins with that, it will end with the two-part Avengers: Infinity War as Earth's Mightiest Heroes battle it out with Thanos, a story that's been building since The Mad Titan reared his ugly head in The Avengers in 2012.
Since helming Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Rupert Wyatt has parted ways with a number of studios over apparent creative differences. Avengers: Age of Ultron concluded with a new team of heroes being assembled by Captain America and Black Widow. With Iron Man deciding to take some time away from the team, Thor returning to Asgard, Hawkeye back with his family, and The Hulk M.I.A., the new roster included Scarlet Witch, The Falcon, The Vision, and War Machine.
We've already heard from Kevin Feige today about Marvel's big plans for Spider-Man and the hope for more connectivity between the movies and TV shows, but the Marvel Studios President has now dropped perhaps the biggest reveal yet, as he addresses what sounds like the end of Captain America's solo adventures on the big screen.
While some fans aren't happy with Gotham's decision to explore the origin story of The Joker, Cameron Monaghan certainly made an impact when he appeared during the first season of the Fox series, and he's taken on a leading role this year as part of the "Maniax." Today, the first clip from next week's instalment of the Batman prequel has been released, and, well, he's certainly a lot like Heath Ledger's Joker!
A number of new speedsters will be appearing in the highly anticipated second season of The Flash, with Jesse Quick, Wally West, and Zoom all set to make their presence felt. However, one of the biggest new additions to The CW series is no doubt Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick, The Flash who hails from Earth-2.
24 and Happy Endings star Elisha Cuthbert has landed what is described as a major recurring role opposite Ashton Kutcher (Two and a Half Men) in Netflix's upcoming comedy series, The Ranch.
