Though it hasn't been confirmed just yet, we're inclined to believe that unfortunately, Sherlock will be ending after its upcoming fourth season. Set to premiere on January 1st, star Benedict Cumberbatch has hinted in the past that it may be his last outing as the iconic detective and with the season finale set to receive a special theatrical release, it looks like this could very well be the end.
For Christopher Nolan's next film, the director will be turning towards a setting that not many people ever expected him to venture into: WWII. He's currently putting the finishing touches on Dunkirk, which will be with us in July and is a film that will no doubt have everyone talking.
As expected, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story dominated at the North American box office this weekend with a massive $96.1 million haul over the four-day holiday. That's taken its domestic total to an impressive $237.4 million, and while it's still a long way behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens, this is an incredible performance for Disney and Lucasfilm's first Anthology movie.
If you're not watching Rick and Morty, you're missing out. Leaps and bounds ahead of other adult animated comedies and arguably one of the funniest and most original series currently on air, the third season really can't get here soon enough. Fans of the show have been waiting a long time for it, and now we have yet another sneak peek to help tide us over.
It's no secret that Ryan Reynolds has had a rocky relationship with superheroes. Before the actor hit a home run earlier this year with Deadpool, he'd previously starred in two doomed films that had him playing iconic characters from comic books. The first time, of course, was when he suited up as the Merc with a Mouth, albeit a very different version than what we got in Deadpool. It was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a film that's better off forgotten about.
Much to the surprise of fans, the first season of Preacher didn't really adapt Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's critically acclaimed comic book series. It borrowed plenty of characters and moments from the source material, but served as more of a prequel to it with the finale ending close enough to where the comic began.
There's nothing particularly exciting about two friends sharing a drink over the holiday season, right? It's a fairly common occurrence and something that shouldn't turn too many heads. Except, these aren't just any two friends. This is Dwayne Johnson and Henry Cavill we're talking about, and given that they're both involved in the DCEU, the speculation train has already begun chugging ahead at full steam.
After giving us our first look at Captain Underpants earlier today, Entertainment Weekly is back with another new superhero-themed image, this time from The LEGO Batman Movie. Set to feature a more moody Caped Crusader (voiced by Will Arnett) than some of the other films that have revolved around the hero, seeing him all dressed up for a party does seem a little out of character.
If you cast your mind back to 2015, you may remember that shortly before Star Wars Celebration was about to get underway, director Josh Trank, who was working on the Boba Fett spinoff, was removed from one of the panels due to what the studio claimed was "illness." While at the time we didn't know the full story, we later found out that producer Simon Kinberg had him kicked off the project after the debacle that was Fantastic Four.
As of right now, very little is known about what we should expect from Avengers: Infinity War. There are plenty of rumours out there and enough speculation to drive you mad, but the signs are all pointing to Earth's Mightiest Heroes teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Josh Brolin's Thanos.
