Tonight's episode of The Flash is all about the "Invasion!" crossover event, but things will return to normal next week when Barry Allen meets back up with Earth-3's Fastest Man Alive, Jay Garrick.
In recent years, moviegoers have made it clear that they would like to see just as much diversity behind the camera as in front of it. Unfortunately, it's been slow going, and while we'll get to see Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman next year, big budget blockbusters remain a type of film seemingly dominated by white, male directors.
Ever since it became clear that Disney and Lucasfilm would be releasing standalone Star Wars Anthology movies, fans have been demanding that Ewan McGregor return to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi for his own solo outing, one which would fill in some of the gaps in his life between the prequel and original trilogies.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theatres this July, but we've still seen absolutely nothing in the way of official promotional material for the film. Set pics have been hitting the web at the furious rate over the last few months, but aside from that, we haven't got very much. That's all about to change though, as the very first trailer will apparently be with us next month, as it's attached to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
2016 has been quite the year for superhero movies. We kicked things off with the R-Rated Deadpool (a film no one expected to be as successful as it ultimately was), and followed that with two more critical and commercial hits from Marvel Studios in the form of Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange. Warner Bros. also kicked off their DC Films Universe, though their fortunes weren't quite as good.
James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 isn't too far off now, with the film set to blast into theatres on May 5th, 2017. Surprisingly, however, we've seen very little from it. That may just be because Marvel wants to keep the spotlight on Doctor Strange for the time being - and we wouldn't blame them given how well it's performing - but fans are definitely eager to see more of the upcoming sequel.
The House of Mouse must be pretty happy right about now, as they ruled over the box office this weekend thanks to both Moana and Doctor Strange, with the former taking in $55.5 million and the latter pulling in another $13.4 million. Both of those figures are significant, and here's why.
It's been said that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story might end where A New Hope began, and while it will be a lot of fun seeing how this movie sets the stage for the original trilogy, links to the prequels are inevitable (whether you like them or not). That's where certain cameos come in, hence why Jimmy Smits will reprise the role of Bail Organa.
This past Monday's episode of Supergirl featured the return of the original Hank Henshaw as Cyborg Superman. Now, a new clip has been released which features the robotic villain heading to National City's alien bar to take on Mon-El in a battle which doesn't end up going particularly well for the Daxamite refugee.
It was only yesterday that we got what was billed as the "final" trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but it turns out that Disney and Lucasfilm have at least one more incredible preview for us. This one is every bit as exciting, and with tickets set to go on sale on Monday, it will have you hitting F5 on your keyboard like a maniac to ensure that you're among the first to see it.
