Nintendo Dates Wii U Virtual Console 30th Anniversary $0.30 Games
Nintendo announced last week that they were planning to hold a limited time 30 cent sale on several Wii U Virtual Console titles to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the launch of the Famicom in Japan (better known as the Nintendo Entertainment System in the West). At the time of the announcement Nintendo detailed which games would be included over the course of the sale, however, they did not provide any specific dates as to when each title would get discounted. The Big N has now laid out the entire schedule for the promotion (posted below) which is already underway with Balloon Fight for the NES.

The Cave Review
Spelunking through the depths of the mysterious cave in Double Fine Productions' latest game The Cave will likely bring on a bout of nostalgia for anyone who fondly remembers pointing and clicking their way through adventure games during the 1980's and 1990's. This should come as no surprise to hear since the title comes from the mind of Ron Gilbert -- the man behind several classic adventure games like Manic Mansion and The Secret of Monkey Island. Considering the history of the developers working on The Cave, it would be fair to say that there were some lofty expectations for the title leading up to its release. Thankfully, Gilbert and his team have once again lived up to their reputations by delivering a fun and challenging adventure game.

THQ To Sell Their Remaining Assets In A “Separate Process”
While the bankruptcy auction for THQ's intellectual property resulted in the bulk of their more popular franchises finding new owners, there are still plenty of the company's assets that failed to attract any bids during the process. THQ's president Jason Rubin has spoken up about the remaining IPs -- which includes the Darksiders, the uDraw tablet and games (the final straw that broke the company's cash flow statement), and the Double Fine-developed Costume Quest, among others -- revealing that there will be a second sale for those unsold assets in the near future.

Web PlayStation Store Now Live In North America
As promised, Sony has officially rolled out the web browser version of the PlayStation Store across North America. This means that you will now be able to easily spend all but $0.60 of the money in your PSN Wallet buying Double Fine's The Cave, without having to deal with the hassle of fighting through the awkward PlayStation 3 version of the PSN Store.

Assassin’s Creed III The Tyranny Of King Washington DLC Launches Feb 19th
Ubisoft announced today that the first episode of Assassin's Creed III's The Tyranny of King Washington downloadable content will be released for the Xbox 360 and PC on February 19th, and on the PlayStation 3 on February 20th. A launch date for the Wii U version was not announced, however, Ubisoft did confirm that DLC will be released for Nintendo's console.

New Pikmin 3 Screenshots Reveal Life From The Pikmins’ Point Of View
During yesterday's Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata announced that Pikmin 3 would contain a feature that allows players to take screenshots from the Pikmins' point of view by using an in-game camera, and then share those photos on the Wii U's MiiVerse. To demonstrate the camera feature Iwata showed off several of the screenshots from the game, which revealed that the Pikmin's world is beautiful, slightly phallic at times (as evidenced by the screenshot above), and also a bit frighting. This is especially true whenever you are staring down the business end of a Bulborb or watching a giant crab munch on a handful of Pikmin.

Resident Evil: Revelations Console Debut Trailer, Not Coming To Vita
Earlier this week Capcom confirmed that the former 3DS exclusive survival horror title Resident Evil: Revelations was being ported to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC as both a full retail game and digital download. While the announcement did come with a handful of screenshots, everyone knows that you can't really judge a game's visuals until you see it in motion -- preferably with a spooky piano soundtrack and evil sounding voice-over. Thankfully, Capcom has now provided all of the above with the release of the game's debut trailer.
