Where Johnny Depp goes, others will follow. It's a rule of Hollywood, and so far it has worked out pretty well for Mr. Depp and those he works for. His latest vehicle - the one that will likely follow his appearance in Into The Woods - will be comedy crime film Mortdecai, and his new co-stars are Ewan McGregor and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Over the past few years, Netflix has gone from everyone's favorite online video and DVD service to everyone's favorite punching bag. And guess what? They have no one to blame but themselves. From the quickly killed idea of splitting their DVD and streaming services into two separate entities (remember Quikster, everyone?!), losing Starz and diminishing service quality, Netflix really has shot themselves in the foot again and again. Now it's coming out that the company has streamed the wrong version of some films; versions that have been cut, cropped or pan-scanned into oblivion.
Let me start this by saying that I'm always pulling for Keanu Reeves. Always. I loved the guy in The Matrix, in the Bill and Ted films, in Speed; in just about anything, really. I think he gets a bit of a raw deal sometimes. So it really pained me to watch, finally, the trailer for the troubled and long-gestating 47 Ronin.
Of all the many big names being teased for The Expendables 3, did you ever think that Twilight actor Kellan Lutz would be added to the mix? The thought never crossed my mind, but that's where we're at now as it's been reported that the actor is in talks to join the upcoming action flick.
I guess I missed the boat on this one. I had not even heard of the next feature film coming up for Pixar's Pete Docter (Monsters Inc., Up. It's called Inside Out and the whole thing apparently takes place in an eleven year old girl's head. That's not the exciting part, though. The exciting part is that all the main characters are her emotions (anger, fear, happiness, etc.).

There's nothing that I love more than a good cinematic and totally arbitrary legal battle. I've really been getting my fill with the current rumble over the title to The Weinstein Company's The Butler; or, rather, The Butler that never was. The Weinsteins have lost their legal tiff with Warner Brothers over the title.
