Were you a young person from 1993-2000? An adolescent or a child, who followed the trials and tribulations of Cory, Topanga, Mr. Feeny, and Shawn from childhood through adolescence, high school and beyond? You were? Then this news is pretty much for you. The sequel of sorts to Boy Meets World (what’s a sequel to a TV series?), handily titled Girl Meets World, that Disney Channel announced not too long ago has found its star in 11 year-old Rowan Blanchard.
He might only have a bit part in it, but ever since it was announced that Jude Law would be appearing in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, he’s been very excited.
The wait’s over, guys! Everything’s going to be OK! That’s right, Disney’s mystery project 1952 now has an official moniker and it makes everything crystal clear. Here we go, the official title of 1952 is …
Rosario Dawson is yet another actress that has begun to work a lot, and then not always on the most convincing projects. She’s just been added to the cast of Atom Egoyan’s thriller-ish Queen Of The Night, playing an investigator opposite Ryan Reynolds.
I have a love/hate relationship with James Franco. Mostly I love him, but then I really hate him. No one can accuse him of not trying, although sometimes he tries things that are quite obviously above his head. Remember when he was going to adapt Blood Meridian, perhaps Cormac McCarthy’s least-adaptable novel? Yeah, that never happened did it? Now Franco wants to try again, with a different difficult novel. He’s planning to direct and star in a film adaptation of James Ellroy’s American Tabloid.
Am I just hopelessly out of the loop? I consider myself pretty well up on my movies, but this is the first I’ve actually heard of Riddick, the latest sequel to Pitch Black. It’s perhaps the least surprising news to come out this week – even less surprising than the fact that Lance Armstrong was doping – but here it is: Paramount and Bad Robot are turning the Lance Armstrong doping scandal into a movie.
Don’t toy with my emotions, Marty. Between you and Guillermo del Toro, my cinematic life is a series of ups and downs, from the depths of despair to the heights of hope.
At least, that’s my reaction to this latest news about Martin Scorsese’s next project. He’s promised that his next film will be Silence, and we’re holding him to that because … because I want to see the damn movie.
“It’s a hot tub … time machine.”
Honestly, that’s the only line I remember from Hot Tub Time Machine. But I also remember that it was pretty damn funny for a movie about a hot tub time machine. Now there’s talk of a sequel, because very good comedy gets a sequel.
She’s one of the best things in Les Miserables and a pretty good bet for Best Supporting Actress at this year’s Oscars, but can Anne Hathaway handle some of the most beautiful language ever written? We’ll soon find out (I think), because Hathaway is in talks to appear in a new modern adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Taming Of The Shrew.
