Getting To Know Bismack Biyombo, 2011 NBA Prospect
The first think you need to know about this 6'9" 240 pound NBA prospect is once drafted he'll have one of the better names in the NBA. Bismack Biyombo. Go on, say it out loud. Bismack. Biyombo. Nice. The next thing to know about him is he's being touted as a smaller version of Dwight Howard. Not a bad name to be linked to for a potential draftee.

The 2011 Cleveland Indians Are For Real
As a staff they are top 10 in ERA, BA against, base on balls, and quality starts. Justin Masterson and Josh Tomlin are both pitching like top of the rotation guys. Closer Chris Perez has 12 saves in 13 chances, and the relievers have 21 holds with Tony Sipp having 10 of them.

2011 NFL Draft Winners: Chicago Bears
I had to treat the Bears draft like I did the others I looked at, which was hard because I'm so close to to the situation. I couldn't look at who I thought they should have selected, but only at the actual players drafted. The draft isn't about what should've or could've been, it's about what was done. The Bears drafted two immediate starters in the 1st two rounds and added some depth with their other 3 picks.

Why Dwight Howard Will Be In L.A. Next Season
Kobe Bryant isn't old, but he does have a lot of basketball miles on his body, so finding another player that can be "The Man" on occasion for L.A. makes sense. The window on being a title team for Bryant is still open. Pau Gasol is a fantastic player, but he isn't Superman. The Lakers were just swept away by the Dallas Mavericks and they are losing the Zen Master Phil Jackson, so making a splashy move this off season fits the bill for owner Dr. Jerry Buss.

2011 NFL Draft Winners: Houston Texans
I thought there were a few NFL teams that had drafts that stood above the rest. I already spotlighted the Saints, the Patriots, and the Colts haul and this time out it's on to the winning draft of the Houston Texans. While it's far too early to slap a letter grade on their draft class, it's not too early to get all Sheenish and call them 'winning'.

The Latest Twist In The NFL Lockout
I'm not entirely sure what legal ramifications this action will bring. For all I know the Court of Appeals may not even consider the brief,but DeMaurice Smith, the Executive Director of the National Football League Players Association, thinks it a "huge" deal.

2011 NFL Draft Winners: New England Patriots
The Patriots, as always under Bill Belicheck, had a real good draft. They got some impact players for now, some quality developmental projects, and of course some future draft picks. I'm not about to give their draft a letter grade, it's much too early for that, but I will say that their 2011 draft class looks to be a winning one.

Detroit Lions Take DT Nick Fairley
The Detroit Lions continue their solid drafting since getting rid of clueless GM Matt Millen. When Nick Fairley, the defensive tackle from Auburn started falling in the draft, I'm sure Lions head coach Jim Schwartz started having visions in his head of playing the nasty and disruptive DT next to his nasty and disruptive DT Ndamukong Suh.
