With every new NFL season there comes a new version of Madden. Yes it's reached that one name status; you say the name Madden these days and most assume your talking about the iconic video game. Tiki Barber couldn't cut it as an NFL analyst. It takes more than good looks and a big smile to make it in TV. Barber didn't transition from the gridiron to the microphone as well as he thought he would, and it left a void in his life. So he launched his comeback. The Death Of The Traditional NFL Playbook
I also wondered if it would be possible for a coach to track the amount of time a player was spending with his playbook open, or studying film, and Dale said that would definitely be possible. Much like the way the Moneyball type number crunching has revolutionized Major League Baseball, I think the ability to have so much info and easy access to clips will be a boon to the NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles Give Michael Vick $100 Million
I'm not the kind of sports fan that gets all salty when an athlete signs a huge money deal. I'll never begrudge a player for getting every cent they can from their bosses. And I'm not the kind of fan that thinks athletes don't deserve the kind of ridiculous money that they get. They deserve whatever the market dictates they deserve. The Philadelphia Eagles decided that Michael Vick needed some new paper worth $100 million for 6 years, with $36 million guaranteed. Good deal for Vick, but I'm not sure it's a good deal for the Eagles.

The NFL Should Amend Their Injured Reserve Rule
Why is it that the most violent sport played has the strictest injured reserve policy? If you are injured in the NFL, your team has two options; keep you on the roster so you can rehab in hopes you can return to help the team at some point during the season or be moved to the injured reserve list and forfeit any chance of playing again that year.

NFL Fantasy Football Is $erious Business
Behind the NFL Lockout, and the millionaire players bickering with the billionaire owners, were the thousands of fantasy football players absolutely freaking out at the thought of no National Football League games in 2011. They were freaking out not because they'd miss out on their favorite teams playing every Sunday, but because they'd miss out on the countless hours they love to spend pouring over stats, the 6-8 hour fantasy draft party, the bragging rights and the chance at winning a cash reward or trophy.

Washington QB Rex Grossman: Confident Or Delusional?
I get it. I understand that an NFL quarterback has to have that cocky bravado so everyone knows he's, without question, "the man." And I wouldn't expect a professional athlete, when asked about his team's chances, to give any response that's less than glowing. But come on, did Rex Grossman really say that the Washington Redskins will win the NFC East.
