Star Wars: The Force Awakens' dominance at the box office has begun, and it's just as impressive as analysts predicted. After smashing records all over Europe earlier this week, the film debuted in North America last night, pulling in a whopping $57 million. To put that number into perspective, previous record holder Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 only took in $43.5 million on its Thursday opening.
Following this trailer tease, Walt Disney Pictures has released a brand new motion, or "living", poster for their upcoming live-action/CG hybrid take on Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. This latest trip to the depths of the jungle gives us a brief glimpse of Baloo the bear and Raksha the wolf in the foreground, as Mowgli and Bagheera the panther cautiously venture into the lair of King Louie, while the threat of the vengeful tiger Shere Khan hangs over them all.
Just in case you haven't had enough of Star Wars: The Force Awakens yet, Disney has released several new clips and featurettes on the eve of the film's release. There may not be much in the way of new footage here, but with the film now in theatres worldwide, there really isn't any need to show off anymore of it.
You may remember a rumor (started by Simon Pegg, no less) doing the rounds a few months back regarding SPECTRE star Daniel Craig making a cameo as a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. At the time though, the actor denied it down to the ground, saying the following:
Stephen Amell is most well known for playing the titular DC emerald archer on The CW's Arrow, but that doesn't mean the actor would rule out playing a different superhero character at some point - even for rival brand Marvel.
A brand new trailer for The Crow director Alex Proyas' mythological adventure, Gods Of Egypt, has been released. While the first teaser hinted at the wider story and provided a few glimpses of the deities at war, this one gives us a better idea of the plot and features the first appearances of Thoth (Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman) and the unnamed wise old sage type character (isn't there always one?) played by Geoffrey Rush.
Will Marvel's Doctor Strange feature an appearance from the Webhead? While it's certainly a possibility, chances are Tom Holland was just dropping by to check out the set with executive producer Louis D'Esposito, who posted the images to Twitter. They photos also include the man who we recently found out had a hand in writing the movie's script, C. Robert Cargill, as well as cinematographer Ben Davis and production designer Charles Wood, who both worked on Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
If you tuned into the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. midseason finale last week you'd know that towards the end of a very intense episode, Coulson (Clark Gregg) finally put an end to the traitorous former Agent Ward via robotic hand chest crush - but, that wasn't the last we saw of actor Brett Dalton looking very much alive, if a little on the tired side.
The world premiere of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens is just a couple of hours away, and with the movie so close to its release, you may have seen more than enough of it at this stage. That's what I thought originally, but I still couldn't resist watching this new TV ad, which features more of the awesome lightsaber duel between Finn (John Boyega) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).
