The first season of Fox's small screen telling of the origins of Batman and his menagerie of bad guys was generally considered a success, though many would also agree that there was significant room for improvement at the same time. Can the second season of Gotham (dubbed "Rise of the Villains") maintain the level of quality while addressing the show's problems? If these stylish new stills and posters are anything to go by, it's certainly on the right track.
The latest casting addition for the DC TV universe is Insurgent actor Keiynan Lonsdale, who will join season 2 of the CW's The Flash as a character fans have been hoping to see zip into their screen for quite a while now, Wally West.
We've seen quite a few new images from Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice recently, as promotion for the movie kicks up a notch, but this latest one, courtesy of the director's personal (and currently private) Instagram page, is definitely the most scenic so far.
While the film could feature pretty much any bad guy that we haven't seen on the big screen in a previous Spider-Man movie, there's some intriguing new evidence to suggest that Marvel, Sony and the writing team of John Francis Daly and Jonathan Goldstein are at least considering the possibility of having Sergei Kravinoff hunt the Webhead through the streets of New York in their upcoming standalone flick.
Following on from the news that Deadwood's Ian McShane has joined the cast of Game Of Thrones season 6 in an unspecified role, HBO has now announced that he'll be joined by another screen veteran, Max Von Sydow (The Seventh Seal, The Exorcist, Dune, Minority Report). We do know who he'll be playing though - and it's a character we've already met.
It seems Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) will have a rival for the affections of Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) when the CBS TV series kicks off next month, as EW reports that Jenna Dewan-Tatum (The Witches Of East End, American Horror Story, The Playboy Club) has joined the cast of the small-screen DC Comics adaptation as Lucy Lane.
Not that it was ever really in any doubt, but both actors were only signed on for three X-Men films and had stated previously that they weren't certain that they'd be returning. That's usually just a formality of course - but in case anyone was worried that the X-universe would have to make do without McAvoy's Charles Xavier and Fassbender's Magneto, by the sounds of things, new deals are in place and they're both set to reprise the roles in Fox's batch of post X-Men: Apocalypse projects.
Hollywood's obsession with making films about the most inane things possible continues, as The Wrap reports that we're getting a bloody Pez movie. For those unaware, Pez is a popular candy that has been around for over 80 years, dispensed from the plastic heads of various characters from pop culture. There's Star Wars, Batman, Marvel, Looney Tunes - you name it, chances are Pez has used its likeness.
Things looked shaky there for a while, but Fox and Channing Tatum have evidently ironed out any issues that they had, as it's being reported that the Magic Mike XXL actor has officially signed on to play card-flinging Cajun mutant Remy Lebeau, AKA Gambit.
Our first major bit of casting new for the highly anticipated sixth season of HBO's Game Of Thrones is a doozy. According to Entertainment Weekly, former Deadwood actor Ian McShane has signed on in a mysterious role. There's hardly any details, but the site does add that he will apparently have a "relatively small amount of screen-time during the season, yet his character is of key importance."
