We're only a few months into 2017, but already Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a clear frontrunner for having the best marketing campaign of the year. Seriously, it's been amazing how much great footage Marvel's been able to show off without revealing anything at all really about the plot. Even most of the new characters remain a completely mystery, yet fans are still hooked, finding themselves reeling after every new promo.
Following the news that both Jamie Chung and Stephen Moyer have signed on to lead the cast of Fox's new X-Men family drama, Deadline is now reporting that Sean Teale (Skins, Reign, Incorporated) has also joined the growing ensemble as a mutant character named Marcos Diaz, AKA Eclipse.
Hot on the heels of that creepy poster released earlier today, we now have the brand new trailer for Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant to share with you. It wasn't supposed to drop until Thursday, but it seems to have leaked online ahead of schedule - as these things tend to do - and we've embedded it above for your viewing pleasure.
With its release just over a month away now, Paramount has really begun to kick the marketing campaign for Rupert Sanders' Ghost in the Shell into high gear, delivering some very interesting and exciting pieces of promotional material along the way. Though the film was once mired in controversy with many fans citing whitewashing as a serious issue - given the casting of Scarlett Johansson in the lead role - the tides have since turned and at present, most seem to be on board with it.
Though many shows have tried, few (if any) have reached the level of popularity that Game of Thrones has. It's without a doubt one of the biggest series on the air right now, dominating ratings and awards shows and always finding itself coming up in conversation, even in the breaks between seasons. Speaking of which, fans have been patiently waiting for the show to return for its penultimate outing and while it's expected to be with us at some point in the summer, an exact premiere date hasn't been revealed yet.
With the show set to start shooting very soon in Hawaii, casting on Marvel's ambitious new project, Inhumans, is really heating up now. After learning last week that Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon had landed the role of Maximus, we're now being told that the studio has cast Hell on Wheels' Anson Mount as Black Bolt.
Though he's quickly becoming one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, and is increasingly busy thanks to his commitments to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems that Benedict Cumberbatch is still finding time for the small screen. Indiewire is reporting that the actor has signed on to star in Melrose, a five-episode series set to air on Showtime.
Tomorrow night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Chris Pratt will debut the third trailer for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. We're not sure just what exactly it'll show off, but if this new sneak peek is any indication, it seems like we'll be getting a look at Drax's manners. Or lack thereof.
Spidey is set to swing into theaters this July, which really isn't too far off now, yet oddly enough, the marketing campaign hasn't kicked into gear yet. Aside from the thrilling first trailer back in December, it's been pretty slow as far as promotional material goes and with only a few months left now until the blockbuster arrives, it's understandable that fans are eager to see more of the Jon Watts-directed flick.
So....Suicide Squad's an Oscar winner now. Say that out loud to yourself a few times. Feels weird, doesn't it? Believe it or not, though, David Ayer's film was given an Academy Award last night and the movie is now back on people's minds. That's why it's quite appropriate then that a new batch of concept art has landed online which is rather interesting. Unlike previous images which simply showed alternate costumes or designs for Task Force X, this one includes something which is sure to catch fans' attention.
