Ever since it was officially announced that the title of the next installment in the main "Skywalker saga" would be Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we've all been speculating, guessing, and eagerly anticipating more details on the follow-up to J.J. Abrams' The Force Awakens. Though it'll probably be another few months (April is rumored) before we get some kind of teaser trailer, the title reveal has made way for a few minor, but intriguing tidbits of information.
M. Night Shyamalan is the master of the twist. Say what you want about the director, and his divisive body of work, but the man knows how to pull the rug out from under audiences better than most. For proof of this, look no further than his most recent effort, Split. While a solid film in its own right, it's really the ending that's got people giddy with excitement.
15 years after the release of Richard Kelly's beguiling original, the director has announced that he has plans for a follow-up to Donnie Darko, and he's promising “something much bigger and more ambitious to do in that universe."
We've been hearing quite a bit about Marvel and Freeform's small screen adaptation of Cloak and Dagger recently, though hardly any of it has actually been officially confirmed just yet. Still, solid sources report that Beyond the Lights director Gina Prince-Bythewood is set to helm the pilot episode, and just last night we heard on good authority that the lead roles of Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen had been cast. Now, we can add some more unconfirmed, but most likely accurate details.
Poor Fantastic Four. Despite being an excellent superhero property, Marvel's First Family have had a very rough time on the big screen. Back before comic book movies were the bee's knees, Fox put out two films that both failed to impress, sending the characters back to the shelf for almost a decade before the studio tried to reboot them. Unfortunately, that was also a disaster (perhaps even worse of one than what came before) and now, the Fantastic Four have been left in limbo.
There's a considerable amount of buzz starting to build around the X-Men franchise at the moment. Though Fox has yet to announce what they'll be doing with the next entry in the main series - though rumors point to it being X-Men: Supernova - there's still much to be excited about. Deadpool 2 and New Mutants are currently gearing up for production, but it's what's happening on the small screen that's perhaps the most intriguing.
Ahead of tonight's brand new episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., "Wake Up", ABC has released a batch of promotional images and the synopsis for next week's installment, which carries the unusual title of "Hot Potato Soup." Though his highly anticipated comeback was expected, the pics give us a first look at Patton Oswalt as one of the returning Koenig.... brothers?
Breaking Bad might be gone, but it's in no way forgotten. In the years since it left the air, AMC has commissioned a spinoff in the form of Better Call Saul. Now two seasons in, with a third on the way, it's proven to be an enjoyable and well executed show, though it's still to reach the heights that its predecessor did back in its heyday. Still, it's been getting better and better as time goes on and its upcoming third outing looks to be its best yet.
Last night we reported that Marvel's upcoming Cloak and Dagger TV show, which will air on Freeform, had found a director for its pilot episode in the form of Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love and Basketball, Beyond the Lights). Now, a new rumor suggests that the two leads have also been cast. According to the MCU Exchange, Noah Gray-Cabey will play Tyrone Johnson (Cloak), while Debby Ryan has signed on to bring Tandy Bowen (Dagger) to life on the small screen.
