It seems that Lana and Lilly Wachowski haven't had a bona fide hit (as directors, at least) since The Matrix stormed into theatres back in 1999 and changed the genre forever. I guess they don't exactly need to be too concerned with success at this point, since that aforementioned film will always be their most defining and iconic work, but it's still a bit disappointing that they were never able to live up to the lofty expectations that The Matrix set.
Brazil's Comic Con Experience kicked off yesterday, and we've been seeing the odd display for the likes of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok pop up online since. Most of it hasn't been particularly revealing, but this very first piece of promotional artwork for Marvel's Thor threequel is a very different story.
Deadline is reporting tonight that Warner Bros. has finally set a release date for James Wan's Aquaman, as the film will swim into theatres on October 5th, 2018.
Earlier today, Marvel made good on their promise and showed off the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming, or what appears to be a snippet of it, at Brazil's CCXP. It's not available online just yet, and with reports pointing to it not arriving in full until Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theatres on December 16th, it may be a few more weeks before we get to see it for ourselves (assuming it doesn't leak early, that is).
With Sunday quickly approaching, the hype is building for the season 1 finale of HBO's Westworld. Aside from fan anticipation at an all-time high, the cast and crew of the show have been chatting up the upcoming episode as well. Evan Rachel Wood recently spoke with Indiewire and teased that it'll make you "get up and clap," while producer Lisa Joy has promised that the super-sized 90 minute outing will answer most of our questions.
With production getting ready to gear up on Jurassic World 2, Universal Pictures is starting to put together its cast. Returning to reprise their roles will be Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bryce Dallas Howard (Black Mirror), and possibly B.D. Wong (Gotham), and joining them will be what looks to be a pretty interesting supporting roster.
It's been a wild ride for Westworld viewers these past few weeks, as the shocks have been coming in thick and fast, and it doesn't look like things will be slowing down any time soon. With a 90-minute finale on the horizon, one which will hopefully answer all our questions (and may just make you get up and clap), fans can hardly contain their excitement.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned after a sort hiatus this past Tuesday night to deliver one of the strongest episodes of the season so far. In it, we found out that Fitz, Coulson and Robbie were actually trapped in a parallel dimension (think the "Upside-Down" from Netflix's Stranger Things), and could only return with the help of Aida the android.
Warner Bros. has dropped a brand new poster for The LEGO Batman Movie today and it might just be the best one-sheet we've seen for a Batman film yet. If not, then it's definitely right up there. We've included it down below, and as you can see, it features the Caped Crusader on the run from a whole host of DC villains.
